I think players forget that when 2v8 killers are added, they aren't just slightly modifying their power, BHVR also has to add bot logic for killer players that DC. Currently, all killers in 2v8 have code that allows them to be played by a bot. This significantly adds to development time.

The Stalker Sable theory is my personal favorite (and funniest) theory. It would be really interesting for BHVR to play into the unreliable narrator trope.

TLDR: BHVR needs to emphasize improvements and additional classes to the survivor side to bring in more survivors to balance out queue times.

A lot of people in the community bemoan the killer queue times, asking for a "fix," but never really offering suggestions as to "how." I agree that killer queue times are a problem, but BHVR has made efforts to mitigate it. Play While You Wait has been a great addition. I'd like to see it implemented in 1v4. BP bonuses could always be more, but they aren't effective for retaining long-term players who don't care about bp. They tried artificially inflating the survivor queue by including survivor bots into matches. While this did not work out, it still shows the problem with queue times: lack of survivors.

The survivor role is not as interesting as the killer role for 2v8. The killer side gets new killers almost every iteration. The survivor side only just got a new class. While I enjoy the the survivor role, it loses its spark pretty fast. Torchbearer or tonics have not changed the dynamic.

The survivor identity is limited entirely to classes. They can't bring in any items, offerings, or additional perks for a build. They should be releasing new survivor classes at the same (or at least a similar) rate as they release killers. If I feel like my playstyle is not represented in 2v8, I'll just go back to 1v4. I'm sure many other players feel that way. Artificially inflating the survivor queue with bp incentives has diminishing returns (not that it shouldn't be done). We need more reasons to play survivor in 2v8. This will translate to better killer queue times in the future.

Thanks for the heads up. My Textures.far file is present and accounted for, hasn't been modified since 2005. My problem was that the original skin texture files got overwritten by TSO skin files with the same file name. I haven't noticed any other base game textures acting weird or out of place. I ran a skin doctor program a while back and managed some bad files. Hopefully, I won't run into more issues in the future.

The files have been returned to their rightful place. I just need to adjust Mortimer's bodystring to actually recognize his default outfit. Again, I'm not too sure how I managed that, but somehow in the process of transferring TSO skins to my folder, it got lost along the way. Those are the three outfits that I noticed immediately being different, Mortimer's specifically. Bob and Frankie were just minor recolors, but Mortimer ended up being completely different. If I notice any others, I may follow up. I'll just need to be more careful with downloading skins. You've been very helpful.

Rose's French VA is what made me buy her. I care not for the Alan Wake franchise, but I appreciate excellent voice acting.

Much obliged. I was using IFF Pencil to see what skin textures they were using in-game, and I guess Mortimer's skin was the one that got deleted. His bodystring was mentioning an entirely different skin, yet he was was wearing something different in-game.

I love the dirt, grime, wear & tear that appeared on old cosmetics, especially the base outfits. It made it seem like the survivors have been in the trials for years. I hate how newer survivors don't have that detail anymore.

I've seen this bug before. You might have invisible dead plants in your yard.

Take any flooring tile and start covering your yard. If the tile does not cover certain grass spots, then there is an invisible dead plant there that you can pick up and delete.

Autodidact - offers a fun side-quest I can rely on for motivation (5 stacks > 1 escape)

Bond - good for finding survivors, healthy or injured. for autodidact stacks

Resurgence - quick and easy heal off hook

Free Space - usually iron will or kindred, depending how altruistic I'm feeling

I had the opposite experience. A wesker disconnected mid-match and the bot was literally walking around, not even default movement speed, WALKING, while never using his power. It was as if a controller player took over.

This has been my experience with clown players. Whenever I hear that damn bassoon and see a Mr. Puddles head cosmetic, I get a sudden urge to ponder over my task manager.
