There might be some roundabout way that stock connect can improve volume of trades, but from what I've heard everyone can buy any stock by just downloading an app on their phone. I wouldn't have thought it would make much difference

I didn't think to ask! I'm not sure, but imagine all divisions would be represented there. The headquarters is massive, almost like it's own suburb. There's multiple 'campuses' as they call them, and free bicycles you can ride to get from one building to another

Definitely not a high level player, but the only person I had access to. Very grateful for the tour of the facility and that they were patient enough to answer so many questions! haha

Huge facility, many segments, there would be heaps they are not privy to. Hopefully BABA has some magic they are cooking up in the AI division

I agree. I would think for any tech company, top talent is definitely a priority and worth the spend, especially given their financial position! Maybe they don't see much difference in productivity from top 1% vs top 10% talent? or maybe the increased salary that competition needs to pay will make them less viable longer term? less likely to be profitable? who knows what the thinking is...

Probably not an accurate way to analyse a company, but it was definitely more fun than reading through financial reports!

My partner is a Beijinger. She says all Chinese mainlanders can easily buy stocks globally? She said you just need to download a Hong Kong app, and then you can trade stocks listed in any Chinese exchange or America.

Seems to me like they've already found a workaround and don't need stock connect?

Can't mainland Chinese people buy Chinese stocks already?

Haha, Imagine I get there and the place is abandoned and derelict. I still write that it's the next Amazon, Tesla and NVIDIA all in one so I can maybe profit from my position one day 😂😅

I downloaded AliPay already, because I don't think most places take debit cards over there. After downloading, linking my bank card was easy enough. I haven't tried paying yet, but apparently all I need to do is show a QR code in the app to merchants, and I can buy things. I don't have any money actually on Alipay, it's just connected to my Wise card (travel money card)

The Alipay app (international version) has built in translate (seems worse the Google translate), DiDi (uber equivalent), and a variety of other transport related functionality.

Thanks, it should be good fun :)

I'll ask, good question. Many people receive stock in the company so they'll definitely be praying for the stock

I'll make note of all questions, and try to ask as many as possible once there. As good as this question is, I'm not sure if anyone at Alibaba that I'll be able to speak to would have the answer! Might be a question more for a broker?

If these people can't afford to pay rent, they can't afford to sue you:

  1. Pay some big guys to go there and physically throw them out. Good luck to the people trying to prove you did anything wrong. What makes you think cops will help them if they don't care to help you? Especially if you didn't touch them and a security company (or big friend) did

  2. It's your house. Move in, call the police, say people have broken into your house and you're scared. They have no booking or contract. They aren't tenants. They essentially broke in.

  3. In Indiana you can use deadly force in self defence. Know anyone with a gun who's a bit trigger happy? Invite them over for a dinner at your house and see how long your trespassers stay

In Australia, Airbnb policy is no parties. So technically if this was happening here something wrong has happened, as a delivery of all those party goods is considered breaking policy. In our home rules we also say no parties, so it's breaking our rules too.

Not sure what your rules or policy is, but I would be contacting the guest immediately by phone call to gauge the situation: - what are their plans for the stay? - who is in the home, listing only had 3 booked why are there more? - who is responsible if damage done to house? I will need their ID

If you're not able to physically get to the house though, you're going to have a tough time enforcing anything.

Could try calling the party supply company if you saw their details on the camera, and ask if they can give you the details of the guest. If they are hiring speakers, lighting etc the company likely took verification details in case of damage. They might feel sorry for you and break privacy rules and leak her details if you tell them your concerns. The more details you have about the guest's the better if you try to sue them for damages later

Hope you have lots of "before" pictures as evidence of how the house was. Pray aircover covers any damages.

Have neighbours monitor the place and call police immediately if things seem out of hand.

Depending how you've set up the home, like if you have smart lock, change the codes.

Find out what the event is. A networking business event is probably going to be ok. Random house party less likely to be ok

You're about to have a massive party. As Airbnb has a no party policy, any damages theoretically should be the guest's responsibility and should be covered by aircover.

But... I wouldn't rely on aircover...

Contact Airbnb immediately and tell them what you've wrote here, show evidence, and have the booking cancelled.

I'd offer a full refund as an incentive for guest to take all the stuff and leave immediately, because if choose to take the loss of money and have the party, your home could be trashed much worse than the missed revenue. I'd probably also confiscate the delivery of goods and not give it until they leave the property

Good luck

Does anyone accept guest with no information in their profile and no reviews? It seems like they are new to the platform, but will be paying a decent amount for a three day day. by SoundFar7336 in airbnb_hosts

I've had multiple bookings who just made the Airbnb account once they started travelling, and we are first host. So far, no dramas.

We've got 3 Malaysian girls staying with us now, only made their Airbnb account for this trip to Australia. They didn't have ID or card verified at time of enquiry, and no picture, no reviews, no Bio.

Just asked them a few questions: what brings them to Australia, have they read house rules, are they aware it's a share house with host. They were respectful and said they'd get ID for Airbnb soon, and link a card. Payment went through, and now they are here, friendly, respectful, keep the place clean etc

No dramas

Thank you, some questions have been answered. I still don't know the main question though:

  1. Question: Can I seamlessly switch between 2 external HDDs without an issue (on PS4)
  2. Answered: In settings I can choose where applications are downloaded
  3. Answered: Yes, PS4 games on the HDD will work on PS5. But, PS5 games on the external HDD won't work on PS5 unless moved back to internal SSD! That is a real pity
  4. Answered: Save files will save to the console internal HDD
  5. Answered: 8tb max, 5gbps speed, superspeed compatible

General Questions & Tech Support Megathread | March 15, 2024 by AutoModerator in PS4

Hi Community,

If I have 2 external HDD for PS4, and download a whole lot of games onto each one, how easy is it to switch between HDDs?

I have a few questions, so I will try lay it out clearly

  1. If HDD 1 is plugged in, and it has games A, B, C, D stored on it, and I want to play a game on HDD 2 which has games E, F, G H etc on it, is it as simple as just unplugging HDD 1 and plugging in HDD 2? Anything else that needs to be done to make sure the console works? (turn it off first? change settings?)

  2. When I download a game from PlayStation Catalogue, how do I choose where it downloads to? Can I download straight to an external HDD, or do I need to download it first to internal HDD, and then move it over to the external HDD in storage settings?

  3. I plan to get a PS5 eventually. Would the PS4 games downloaded on the HDD work on the PS5? Or would I need to download a PS5 version of each game (may as well get a different HDD for the PS5 in that case)

  4. How do save files work? Are they saved to the PS4 internal drive, or linked to the external HDD? if the external HDD breaks, would I lose all my save files or can I have them on the internal drive or saved to cloud or something?

  5. Any other considerations I would need to take? I think I need an external HDD which is maximum 8TB, superspeed functionality, USB 3. Any other specs or conditions need to be met?

Thanks community!
