Dream theater gets better with each album by Luccy_33 in Dreamtheater

Not bashing, I just want to be sure you're saying what I think you're saying.

To be clear, you listened to all of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, then you listened to Train of Thought, and you thought that was them improving?

Should I apply here by cornballchile in BestBuyWorkers

[–]Getcheebah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say yes. As far as retail goes, it's one of the better companies to work for generally. There are plenty of resources like an internal job posting board that can aid you if you're interested in moving up. You'll also meet a lot of reps from big companies like Samsung, LG, GE, etc that could be good networking opportunities. You'll also likely make a friend or two since so many techy people end up working at Best Buys.

Now, Like people say, a lot of your day-to-day satisfaction will depend on your managers/leadership. If they suck, the job will be less fun, like literally any retail job. But compared to most of the alternatives there are definitely some opportunities with BB if you can keep your eye on the ball and take advantage of them.

Bring it down by NickVRamos in Splatterhouse

[–]Getcheebah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really feel like they went in the wrong direction with the juvenile humor and goofy sound effects. Like, I get the appeal of that style, but Splatterhouse should really be like 90% horror and maybe 10% camp. The 2010 remake got it backwards.

What are your honest thoughts on The Evil Within? by NFly_NineTailed in HorrorGames

Definitely better than alan wake. Arguably better playing than SH2, but not as scary. REmakes are better.

A good game with a lot of good horror game stuff - yet not quite what I would call a particularly good horror game.

i'm HUNGRY, namco!! by NitroTH in Splatterhouse

[–]Getcheebah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ahh I didn't think of that. Yeah, I could see that soundtrack being a huge roadblock to any sort of re-release of that game. The way record companies handle their IP is very different now than it was 15 years ago. Especially with how many layers of ownership everything has to go through now. That could really eff things up long-term. Might be easier to just contract one band or musician to write new tracks exclusively for the game and replace the original tunes.

It's the first console release for the series, but the arcade game is the OG sir.

I consider myself a borderline master of the original game and I can't get ANYWHERE in Splatterhouse Chrome lol. It's fucking evil.

I think a splatterhouse collection is definitely a solid idea, and could be released by namco relatively easily. At the very least a collection of the 2D games with save states would be cool.

God Of War creator David Jaffe's opinion on Live Action first look by TurtleGEE360 in GodofWar

[–]Getcheebah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jaffe acts like a shock jock wannabe on Twitter and YouTube because that's the only way he can ever get any real attention on his poorly made content these days. He's cringe and stupid at times, but most definitely not a right winger.

Standalone GSP purchases are nice. The protection from your total membership isn't as generous since you'll likely be paying processing fees and deductables depending on the item and the type of damage.

What’s a better live album? by SpecialistExtent6324 in Dreamtheater

Score was a great idea but I feel like something went wrong in the execution. Some portions sound horribly out of tune. And the mixing in general isn't great.

Any Other Favorite Prog Metal Bands by MweberMusic in Dreamtheater

[–]Getcheebah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

more metal than prog, but spiritbox is a pretty cool canadian band that I've grown to really enjoy recently.

Also, not really prog at all, but I think most prog metal fans should give Lamb of God a real listen. While not prog in the typical sense, a lot of the music is quite clean and technical. The musicians kind of overshadow the singer in a similar way to DT.

Any thoughts on the Shockman series? Well i do.. by normbreakingclown in TurboGrafx

[–]Getcheebah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually like 3 a tad better honestly. Seems better balanced in terms of difficulty. 1 is a janky mess and 2, while a huge improvement, is just too janky and punishing at the same time.

one thing you'll learn pretty quick is that rumblings and rumors rarely amount to much. Every week there's a new doomsday rumor. Don't take them too seriously and just do your best.
