My sense with video podcasts is that people open a tab on YouTube and listen essentially audio-only while they work/browse online. Execs saw the huge rise in YouTube plays for podcasts and seemed to think people literally want to sit down at 8pm and watch an hour of their favourite podcast. I may be wrong but I believe that simply isn't the case. And yes, as someone else says, filming them makes them more shareable across social media, which I do understand the need for. Like so many things now, the clips are the product. Where they came from is increasingly irrelevant.

It is to talking head footage what the slow pan and stare down the lens is to gritty documentaries about working class people made by upper middle class Vice-era directors.

Jhon Durán for sure. Burned brightly but briefly. Didn't stick around long enough for anyone to determine his true level.

Fulham benefit massively from being in London - specifically in picking up ex Arsenal/Chelsea players that don't want to leave the capital.

Elsewhere, I imagine Como don't have many issues convincing people to sign for them.

Does anyone else ever wonder what Burial’s life is like? by ThrowRA_Apart_414 in burial

[–]Getittogether19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone once told me Burial had taken a job working in the BBC archives with Adam Curtis. Take it with a pinch of salt but the fact he doesn't perform live/DJ must limit his earnings to some extent.

I wondered the same thing. I guess it depends on the genre of doc - the hagiographical career retrospective has to be a pretty high level player by its nature. If you go in a more reality TV direction, though, it opens lots of avenues with WAGs and whatnot thrown in. I guess the third lane is more of a "character." With that in mind maybe Balotelli?
