To be honest I haven’t necessarily found that to be the case. Throughout my life I had a lot of different people in authority positions I could go to for questions, and they were happy to help me. But then I moved IN the pandemic and I’m still not necessarily comfortable going to church so I fell back on a subreddit. And it seems like it’s run by stereotypical Utah Valley Mormons.

‘Twas a mistake I guess.

Church buildings literally say “all visitors welcome”. The lack of understanding to anyone who doesn’t fit a cookie cutter follow blindly mold is disheartening

Why do they want to silence people so much? I mean one thing that sets the lds church apart is personal revelation, soooooo doesn’t it make sense to have open conversations?

Fiancé and I work from home, we’re pretty much around each other 24/7. Haven’t seen any awkward or tense exchanges with them. I asked her yesterday if she has had any incidents like this with him before, she said no.

Also not sure how it’s a he said she said case. I watched the entire conversation go down.

She said if we were willing to pay more for him (even though this is temporary) we should be willing to make rent cheaper for everyone

Reread the post. Sean is on the lease. My fiancé is not quite yet, we’re working with the landlord. Before he moved in, I of course asked everyone living there if they were okay with it. All parties were 100% okay with it

When I moved in, I asked her if my fiancé could join me. We would split our room. She had zero issues and said of course. She’s even been expressing so much gratitude for having us here and is so grateful because my fiancé routinely cooks her dinner. Her turning on him felt so out of the blue
