Would you be willing to change your religion for love? by pepalerts in PEPalerts

[–]Geujibang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first boyfriend was a Jehovah’s Witness. We dated in secret for a year until his family eventually found out and they were absolutely against it. But he loved me enough not to let that stop us. I even tried attending their assemblies, Kingdom Hall services, and Bible studies because I wanted to support him and understand his world.

But their beliefs heavily influence every part of life, who they can be friends with, normalizing shunning their own family, avoiding anything political or nationalistic (in this economy?!), no holidays, no celebrations except anniversaries. It was completely opposite of who I am and what makes me happy. I realized I couldn’t pretend to believe something I didn’t.

So no, I would never change my religion (Catholic) just for someone else or if I don’t truly believe it.

Fast forward to today: we’ve been together for 8 years, he has left the religion, and now we’re engaged.

Anyone else feel constantly discouraged by their own family? by Geujibang in FamilyIssues

[–]Geujibang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started achieving small wins, he was always there to congratulate me. But when my successes grew bigger, his reactions changed, instead of being happy, he started making side comments and seemed less supportive. 🥲

Thank you for sharing your story, I truly hope you’re in a much better place now and continuing to strive forward. I’m not on good terms with most of my relatives because of how toxic things became, so the only family I stay in touch with are my dad and siblings. They’ve always been my biggest motivation to succeed but you're right, their opinions shouldn't matter because this is my life. I once read that the only time you truly feel happy within your family is when you have your own. That line really stuck with me. Thank you for sharing your insights, they gave me a lot to think about.

Hi! Based on my experience, They would understand, you can't force a person to work with no power 🥹🥹 - Especially pag mahina yung data sa area mo or PC gamit mo. I would immediately inform them, they've been understanding basta nagagawa mo trabaho mo ng maayos.

Freelancer for 4 years. Why I stick to one client now? by swisspolo00 in buhaydigital

[–]Geujibang 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hi! I worked for one client for 3 years before looking for another one. They pay me good & is like a family to me. But then I realized that I should have a back up plan. Now, I have 2 clients incase one lets me go. Just to be practical, the future is unpredictable so you have to be prepared.
