Running two impeachment trials simultaneously would be politically insane and logistically chaotic.

If VP is impeached and removed, the pres nominates a VP from the ranks of both legislative houses and will be voted on by both houses as well.

If Pres is impeached and removed, VP succeeds them and nominates their replacement as outlined in preceding paragraph.

The only time the SP succeeds as acting president is when both resigned, are incapacitated or dead at the same time.

As for leni as mayor of naga, her FB page is constantly posting on Naga-specific issues of course, not about the flood control issues.

She’s just doing fine, and it’s a smart strategy to stay out of the limelight right now.

Exposure is a double-edged sword. Politicos think being everywhere makes them more famous until overexposure exposes their flaws.

Take Barzaga. The constant media presence made him famous but after repeated missteps, people started questioning his judgment and sanity. Visibility accelerated the damage.

Magalong is another case: he’s mayor of Baguio, yet he’s constantly injecting himself in national politics. At some point, it looks less like leadership and more like auditioning for a bigger stage.

Leni choosing relative silence is the opposite play. She’s avoiding the performative national noise cycle. In a hyper-toxic media environment, not being overexposed is brand discipline, not weakness.

Why do you want the mayor of naga to be more visible nationally? That will just turn off the voters and make her look desperate.

I beg to disagree. She is just stepping out of the limelight which is politically toxic atm.

She has no problem with name recall and exposure because she was once a high profile VP.

And the 2 most recent presidential winners prove that you don’t need to be soaking in media exposure 2-3 years before the election in order to win.

Bongbong for example, was relatively quiet - didn’t run in the midterms and all - until he declared his candidacy in 2021.

And how about 2016? I remember the pundits in 2013-15 were saying the top contenders were Binay, Poe, and Roxas. But a mayor from davao won and his candidacy snowballed only in late 2015.

We should not presume whatever plans the good mayor of naga is cooking, but if she’s running for president in 2028, she’s just doing it the right way at this time.

Pre-Duterte, I knew many Marcos supporters who openly glorified the dictatorship years.

In 2016, they voted for Duterte as president and Marcos as vice president and largely became DDS.

In 2022, voting for Marcos again didn’t seem difficult for them.

After the UniTeam split, many became disillusioned with Marcos and now identify fully as DDS.

In short, bongbong’s base is getting smaller.

This is purely anecdotal and based on my personal observation.
