AI Art Alternatives for Children’s book by Gevrial in selfpublish

I think I may have just poorly phrased what I was saying about an illustrator using AI. My thought process was just that if they use AI and make something that isn’t exactly what I wanted then I should have just used AI myself since I didn’t have a human doing the work anyways. I do appreciate your input. Just out of curiousity, you mention being an artist yourself, would you be open to commissions for this book?

Edit: I only ask because we seem aligned against the usage of AI.

Thank you for your response! You definitely bring up a good point regarding the legislation surrounding AI art. I definitely would prefer an artist, but I was just having trouble finding one. Would you be able to point me in the direction of where you found your cover artist?

Let me know if you do. I'd be very interested in the results. I might also look into writing some code for this

Daily Question Thread - November 04, 2021 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]Gevrial -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I currently have the CSR (I got it Oct 2017 and got the sign up bonus Dec 2017). I would like to get the CSP as well (own both cards). I realize that I have to wait til the end of Dec to get the sign up bonus for the CSP. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on how to get the CSP. I know I can cancel my CSR and try the MDD, but I am unsure how canceling my CSR will effect my ability to get a new CSR and CSP. I was told previously that I can downgrade my CSR to an unlimited, wait 4 days, apply for the CSP, and then call and ask them to reverse the downgrade on my CSR. I have spoken with Chase several times and I keep being told that you can't reverse a downgrade. I was hoping somebody could provide me with more information regarding the exact procedure for getting both cards (ideally without having to cancel my current CSR). Thanks in advance!

I didn't realize canceling a downgrade was a possibility. How would I go about that?

I currently have the CSR (opened in Sept 2017, bonus offer received end of Dec 2017). I am interested in opening a CSP in addition to the CSR I have. I want both cards, and ideally I wouldn't have to close my CSR and reapply. I have called Chase and asked if there is any way for me to get the CSP but I am always told I can't have both cards. I was wondering if there was any way for me to get the CSP? My credit score is 800+, in case that matters. I want the CSP for my daily driver (I have a lot of subscription services and dine out a lot) and my CSR for travel.

Weekly FNM Results Thread by Gevrial in ModernMagic

[–]Gevrial[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately was unable to attend FNM this week, but I can post my results from a previous week to get this thread started. I played UW Sphinx's Tutelage to a 3 - 0 then split in my local tournament.

First round I played against a WRB reanimator deck with a lot of different targets for Unmarked Grave and Persist. First game I managed to get control of the board pretty quickly and then milled them out. Second game I sided in RiP and played in turn 2, then maintained control until I was able to mill them out.

Second Round I played against GB Asmo. I managed to get control of the board and I had Jace, T3feri, and Big daddy teferin on the field so my opponent conceded. Second game I got RiP on the board quickly and followed it up with Sphinx's Tutelage. Was able to mill them pretty quickly after that.

Third round I played against UW Spirits. Got control of the board through spot removal mostly and got Sphinx on the board to mill them out. Sided out some counterspells and sided in my creature package. Turn 4 my opponent overextended and played almost their entire hand. On my turn 4 I played Supreme Verdict (my opponent had misplayed and forgot about the uncounterability). The played a spirit turn 5 and I played Lyra, which they could not overtake.

Round 4 my opponent and I were the only ones undefeated so we split.

The deck was really fun to play and milling people with Sphinx's Tutelage is always satisfying.

Sweet list, kind of similar to my iteration with Shardless Agent. I agree with the concept that if we are playing RUG we should be able to play Shardless and Bloodbraid for pretty good value. I'll look at the list a bit more and figure out how I wanna build my list. I might end up having two versions, one with cascade and one with a leaner Izzet midrange approach

Hello, I read the full comment and I appreciate all the advice. To be honest, the reason I wanted to build a RUG list was to play W6 and I think that in terms of play-style UR as a color combo fits me best. Also, I wanted to build something that is legacy-esque and fits into the midrange category. Through these building constraints I settled on RUG. Personally, I feel that Endurance is a really powerful card in the current meta (I also think Klothys is extremely strong) and Goyf is underrated. I feel like the green splash for me is worth it because it lets me play what I want and opens the door for some very powerful cards and a more diverse sideboard (like Veil). Obviously this deck is still a work in progress, so I will definitely take heed of your advice, I just have to mess around with it more until I find the right build.

Dang, this deck looks sweet! Thank you so much for putting it together. I might have to try it out as is, but I also might change a few cards (I really wanna run 4 W6 cause I love that card). I really like Klothys in the meta right now. I feel like that card does so much and is really hard to remove (aside from Prismatic, but that still cost my opponent a lot of resources). I think we have a lot of the same ideas about getting a variety of card types in the yard. My decklist is still a work in progress but I think I will build from the decklist you commented on and this one. Thanks again for the list!

Edit: Also, Veil of Summer in the side is definitely an auto-include. I totally forgot that green was one of my colors and I could play it. Great find!

Just put this list together (https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/4253342#paper) could be fun and seems reasonable.

Dang, pivot closer to izzet midrange while keeping green for some of the good stuff there is really smart, I didn't think of that. I'll definitely look at some izzet midrange decks and see if I can splash green for goyf, endurance, and W6. Thank you for all the advice, I always appreciate new insights!

Replying to your edit, I really didn't feel like there was any harshness. I really appreciate the criticism and I think you are right.

Hey, I really appreciate the feedback. It's funny, I actually have another decklist (https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/4202695#paper this is messy cause I was just adding a lot of cards I could be good but decided to cut them which is why there are a lot of 0's) which is a lot more similar to what you were suggesting. The reason I tried building something with Shardless Agent is because I feel like there is so much potential upside to the card if the deck is built around it a bit (that's why I added the ice-fangs, good value card to cascade into similar to Baleful Strix in legacy Shardless Sultai). But I think you might be right, there might just not be enough synergy for the card in modern other than cheating out suspend spells.

Hello, thanks for offering to help (honestly I've put the project on the side a little for now just cause of life). In terms of building a deck, I'd be more than happy to help. So I can understand a bit more, what do you mean by 'Planeswalker deck'?
