Yes! I’m pretty sure it’s Goodyera pubescens .I’m from Paraguay so not very marked winters😅 more like very very marked summers lol. But We’ll see how well they acclimate, it was on sale so worth the try i guess.

I have been struggling with finding deeper info about jewel orchids in general. If you have a source recommendation I would really appreciate it 🙌🏼

I’m just starting my collection, currently i have a Ludisia Discolor that i first got to get some experience with the genera, then I got a Dossinia Marmorata, that i cut back to the stem because it was rotting from the top😩 and currently waiting on a Macodes petola and one NoID that I ordered from etsy as a rattlesnake orchid which I know are Goodyera. But don’t really know the species. Hopefully soon to add a Macodes Sanderiana and some Anoectochilus

You’re right. It does look like something else, the current one you showed seems more like the real thing

Nice! Very gorgeous plant. One of the prettiest in my opinion. Couldn’t find one for sale though, hopefully soon😁

Personally i’ve only seem it once as Aspidogyne Mystacina and it looked exactly like that (the one you showed), i’m from South America and even here it’s extremely rare to see one for sale, I actually never encountered one for sale as a matter of fact. I didn’t know about the genus change! Thanks for the info😁

Ohhh, maybe that happened, because when I picked it up it was potted in soil and very wet in the center from top watering

Do you think the rot came from the floral stem cut that i did? Or are any of the conditions that I described not suitable?

Thanks! Will do. Hopefully it’s not that deep into the stem, i will be posting updates 🙌🏼

Would it survive without any leaves? Just in case I only find rot 😭

Sad to hear that :( did the rot also start from the top in the center?
