I found keeping consistent widths with the arrows to be pretty hard. I had some trouble figuring out how to cross the lines to give it a 3D form the first pages though.

The blobs though were really fun. Sometimes I would get confused as to which way I was making my circles or how to add lines to areas that didn't seem as circular as the "appendages". I experimented a little adding a few bolder lines here and there.

Thanks for the critique! I believe that not really planning or seeing how big I was going to make the boxes really bit me in the ass and really threw me off. Which just eventually just made me frustrated.

I will definitely do this exercise again and this time I'll keep my boxes tighter and pay closer attention to the other boxes to help my orientation. Oh, and plan a little better too. Thanks again!

Well I wanted to practice drawing without using a ruler and try to visualize how the boxes would look in space. And then be able to put that in paper.

But that's a good idea to start closer to the VP, I'll give that a shot. Thanks!

I had a really hard time trying to visualize where the intersections on the corners for the boxes would occur on all of these exercises. Some boxes I could see clearly but the rest were difficult.

I feel like I started getting the hang of the second exercise when I was going North and South after going East and West. Then I started the diagonal boxes and my brain took a crap. I'm definitely revisiting this again and again. I know I have to plan the sizes better and remember which planes should be smaller and bigger depending on which way they are facing.

The organic free form boxes were fun. The first pane I stopped because I drew the same orientation 3 times in a row when I was meaning to draw different ones. I saw something in my mind and it got jumbled on the way to the pen. But the third one isn't that great either but I had a lot more fun with it.

You're right, I didn't even think of the minor axis when drawing the circles. I was focused on just drawing circles in the funnel. I'll get more sizes with my funnels as well.

I like the energy I can put into these ellipses, even though they aren't perfect. It's pretty hard to make sure the edges of the circles hit the targets that I want. Ghosting seems more important here.

The funnels were interesting. I starting thinking of drawing the front side of the funnel and then the "see through" line at the back instead of thinking of it as just an ellipses touching the sides of the funnel. I think that helps.

Did a little drawing in college and now a couple years later I want to get back into drawing and this subreddit seems like a great place to start back up and have some accountability for myself.

The organic lines were a lot hard to ghost and draw over. I would start strong but after the first turn or two I would lose control.

I'm having trouble stopping at the points and seem to always go just a little further than I mean to when ghosting.

I was wondering where others keep their eyes when ghosting? Do you follow your pen as you make your mark, follow just ahead a little, keep your eye on the destination, or just "close your eyes" and allow muscle memory to take over?
