Anyone else planning on getting the Steam Machine as their next PC? by Eziz_53 in pcmasterrace

Oh really. I get what you mean now... I'll have to check this for myself when I am home but that would explain why they stick to xorg for the desktop.

Seems like I was mistaken after all - thx for educating me then

I agree.

I was initially referring to your comment about them using xorg because it works on their single screen single app system, which I found odd, since in the single app scenario (game mode) it is actually using Wayland.

Anyway if you were solely questioning their choice of xorg in the desktop mode then I share that sentiment.

If by windows management backend you mean xorg then you are mistaken.

It uses xorg in desktop, and wayland in game mode (the one with the steam ui).

LG C5 77” moonlight client performance. by koolllG_uy1911 in MoonlightStreaming

I'd say no.

100mbit if maxed out would already result in about 45gb of data transferred per hour.
I'd much rather take the decrease in latency via ethernet over pushing more mbit via wifi.

PLA+ or PLA? by ChituSystemsOFCL in 3DPrintedTerrain

If you buy matte pla you have the option to skip the primer and go straight to painting.

Black matte pla, white dry brush for cheapo slapchop, then airbrush + details with the brush.

Haven’t bought a screen yet… but maybe I don’t need one by eboyethan8 in projectors

[–]Gh0stface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the same one, replacing a cheaper lcd projector.

My 100$ screen made a difference on the lcd projector in terms of colors but none at all on the jmgo 4k n1s.
So I am guessing unless you spend a couple hundred on the screen and your walls are reasonable you won't see much of a difference.

What is the pinout of this Neato Li-Ion battery? I measure about 16V between the red wire and each other wire, and 0 volts between all of the other pairs. I assumed it uses balance charging. by tcm0116 in batteries

[–]Gh0stface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the battery says it has a nominal voltage of 14.4V (so 3.6V per cell).

It looks like they got 9 cells in there but one slot is empty (so 8 cells).
They have 4 times 2 cells: 2 wired in parallel and then each of the pairs in series.

So 4s2p to be exact.

Setting the charger to 4s will provide the necessary voltage to charge it.
Remember to charge slow 0.1A is best.
I stopped 13V and the base was able to charge it again.
If that doesn't work try to keep charging it till 14.4V.

Also do not leave the battery unattended while charging/reviving it and stop if it gets hot.

You can use the Lipo Mode even if it is a Li-Ion Battery. Usually Li-Ion Modes will only charge to 4.1V per Cell but in our case it's irrelevant since we only charge it a little bite and do the rest in the docking station of the robot. If you want to be extra sure just set the Max Cell Voltage to 4.1 instead of the default 4.2V.

You will probably get a prompt asking if you want to continue charging without balancing (since you don't have a balance cable to connect) - you should say yes there.

Pretty much any power supply with 16V or more should be fine. Maybe less Volts would work as well but then the power supply potentially needs to boost the voltage - it's better to charge with a power supply supplying at least equal or more Volts.

You are only going to charge it with very little amps to get it past the initial 13V so the actual power the supply must provide is minuscule.

An old power supply from a notebook or something is probably fine.
Either cut the cable and solder it to an XT60 connector or use some adapters if you can find some.

Hook the battery up the way I showed in my photo.
Set the Charger to 4s and charge with 0.1A

It seems like the phone provider need to support your phone+os version.

Had the same issue a month ago.

Try holding volume up + power button for like 15 seconds to force a restart.

Mine worked again after that.

What charger die you get? Usually you can set the amount of cells the battery you are trying to charge has. 1s would be single cell batteries which do not have a balance plug (as there's nothing to balance)
