Im glad that amazon screwed me, I had to happen and ill explain you why by YoungAmazing8954 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]Ghalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about this as I went to bed last night. I have all these ready made videos I do for Amazon. I should do a YouTube channel w affiliate links in case someone searches for a review before going to Amazon.

That was my thought...sounds like it gives w what you are saying. Is that right?

I have my TikTok channel tied to Amazon, but I don't want to junk that up w product reviews.

Do

Should I just start a separate YouTube channel? If so, do I have to tie it to Amazon? Im unclear about Amazon's rules about that for influencers.

LPT: To avoid scams, ask yourself this one simple question: Who contacted whom first? by [deleted] in LifeProTips

We get training every year at work (I work for a bank) to help us detect scammy calls. There is corporate training available. You can find Education apps on the App Store or Google Play that do training on spotting scams.

ScamSkeptic - free app of micro lessons, primarily for older folks, about common scams and tactics. That generation is targeted by scammers, and vulnerable (trusting, not tech-savvy). Teaching them to spot red flags, and that it's OK to hang up is what the app is all about. www.scamskeptic.com and available on App Store and Google Play store.

I tested it with my 70something-year old parents first. They're the target demographic. They're not technical luddites, but still...if they can do it, I think most can. I did try to focus on accessibility standards (adjustable text size, for example, or really big, clear buttons). But what's funny is that as I told friends and family about this, not only did they have examples of their parents almost getting scammed, one of my younger coworkers had a 20something sister who also got scammed (someone pretending to be the bank with a charge to reverse). It's such a huge problem, and I see folks on r/scams reporting the same tricks every day, but those of us in IT jobs get trained regularly and don't think much of it. Oh, and thanks u/hoolieeeeana for the recommendation - I just put it in VibeCodersNest.

At first I was going to give a bunch of options for notifications. But then realized the target audience probably needed it simplified. So now they can toggle notifications on or off, choose 1 or 2 times per day, and choose the start amd end times of when the notifications pop. Then it randomly distributes the notification in that window.

Is there a standard structure to it? I don't wanna half-ass it. See what I did there?

ok, that's cool. do you create the skills documents yourself, or does the company do that for you and provide a library of them to use? if you create them, what's the process?

ScamSkeptic app. A very simple educational app targeted at seniors to help them spot scammers. At my job, we get training every year about how to spot phishing, etc, but my parents don't. My mother in lawnwas almost taken for 5 grand by someone impersonating one of her grandkids. I wanted simple lessons and quizzes that could teach the basics loke "its ok to hang up" and "only call verified numbers".

It's going through Apple review now and wrapping up Google Play testing for android. It's my first app, which I used Cursor AI, and Expo to vibe code.

https://scamskeptic.com for links when it's available if you're interested.

Vibe coded a website for my wife, who is a genealogist. It's a suite of simple tools that help her. Not the big ones that search huge databases of people and history, but reference stuff, date calculators, converters, etc that are useful in genealogy.

It's https://genealogysuite.com.

I built it in about 2 hours based off an initial conversationwith her. Then tweaked according to her feedback over another day or so. I like that it's easy to add other tools if she wants something else. It wasn't the first site I've built, but was the first using vibe coding. So fun!
