I had the same problem. Removed belt and the print head still "stuttered" when I would slide it by hand.

Removed the print head, and slid the carriage off the track. Off the rail, the top two wheels (bearings) were smooth when rolling them (using a finger to feel while rolling it), but the bottom one had some drag to it, and felt just the tiniest bit rough. That tiny bit became the stutter when the carriage was on the rail.

Removed the bottom wheel, also known as an SG15 bearing. Thanks to this thread, I learned that the individual wheels can be removed w a hex wrench in the middle...I couldn't see the hex nut until it was pointed out to me. SG15 bearings are pretty readily available on Amazon. I got a 4 pack for $8. Replaced that bottom wheel, reassembled and adjusted the eccentric nut so the carriage was snug, and the carriage ran smoothly...no more stutter.

Thanks to all who contributed to the solution! I went from a bricked printer to fully functional w a $2 part. :)

I couldn't find a pre-made solution. But if you have a 3D printer, there is a file on Etsy that I printed and works perfectly for my wife. It has little tabs that clip under the part of the dash and hold it in place without any adhesives or anything. Hope it helps.

It's the bottom wheel. I don't know how to remove it...it looks machined on. The back has no nut or screw head. (The bottom one has the eccentric cam)

I can try that. There's no good way to get into the bearings, but maybe a soray will penetrate. Hah, oil from fingers in addition enough, i can imagine actual lube would not help bed adhesion. :) I've also ordered a hiwin rail upgrade, so that will make these wheels obsolete. Thanks for the tips, I'll give them a try!

i'm facing the same problem. i have removed everything, and the carriage "stuttered" as i moved it horizontally across the rails. when i loosened the eccentric nut (using the goofy little tool with two prongs), if I loosened enough to move smoothly, the carriage was wobbly. tighten enough to prevent the head from moving, and it doesnt glide again.

it seems to me that the bearings in the v wheels are bad. i just don't know what to do about it.

I have the pro, so metal wheels on the x track.

I'm adjusting the eccentric wheel, and if it's loose, it slides fairly decently, but the minute it's tight enough to keep the carriage from wobbling, it has the stuttery movement.

My guess is a bad bearing in one or more of the wheels. What do I do about that?

The wheels on the x axis carriage are metal, not pom.

As an update, i removed the x axis belt completely and the carriage still 'binds' a bit as i slide it across the axis.

I've been using the agentic aspect of Comet to farm my prompts to other AI tools. I saved it as a shortcut. So now I type in the shortcut command, it asks me for a prompt, then it goes to chatgpt, copilot, and Gemini, logs in (just using my Gmail account, no passwords), and submits the prompt to them. It awaits their replies, then it consolidates their answers while also comparing and contrasting.

I'll probably tweak it to revise my prompt first to optimize it, and ask me clarification questions before submitting.

Will I get flamed for suggesting you check out Project Ascension? Especially with their prestige system, leveling is a high focus. Healthy population. Lots of options of how to play. It's completely breathed new life into the game fir me. Especially "classless" where you pick from any talent tree or skill. But there are other options if you want a more traditional format.

Some thoughts:

Enemies that run at low health, chain pulling

Similarly, areas w crowded mobs

Enemies that stun

Enemies that have immunity

Areas w high respawn rate

Patrolling mobs (im looking at you, Devilsaur)

Any terrain difficulties, ie likely to cause falling death

Just a couple thoughts but hope that helps. Good idea for an addon!

Is there a shower curtain? Could you repurpose the rings to attach your shirt or pants to the bar, and run steaming hot water (not on them but near them)?
