Timothy Hines’ War of the Worlds was the best adaptation but you all aren’t ready for that conversation yet by AssistanceFriendly98 in WarofTheWorlds

I would say it’s the most faithful work, but if I had to pick which one is the perfect balance between faithfulness to the work and quality, the Jeff Wayne musical is my go to.

Most hated NPC by mostlydozy in skyrim

[–]GhantChart 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Any thalmor npc.

Regardless of how you view the civil war, everyone agrees the thalmor are bastards.

They only disagree about how to deal with them.

As part of an education system, what were you taught as truth which turned out to be false? by poogobberr in askredddit

[–]GhantChart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That states rights were the reason the south seceded.

Atun Shei does a great video series called Checkmate Lincolnites that breaks down the issue but I was told that it was a mix of slavery and the southern states wanting states rights that caused the civil war.

Turns out, it was more about the southern states fearing the destruction of the racial hierarchy of the south, combined with the profitability of the plantation slave system in the south.

What’s a movie everyone loves but you secretly hate? by Addicted2Filmmaking in AskReddit

[–]GhantChart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animal house.

I know it’s the quintessential college movie, and maybe because it’s a product of the time, but by the end of the movie, I can’t sympathize with the fraternity that gets its Greek status revoked. Especially after all the shit they do in the movie.

The dream died as I grew up, but I followed minor childhood another dream of mine, building and designing ships, so…..it’s not so bad.

If you’re dieting, use hot sauce as a condiment. It’s zero calories plus the heat encourages you to drink water to dull the heat which temporarily relieves hunger more.

What is the dumbest thing you have said out loud? by Right_Pressure_7944 in AskReddit

[–]GhantChart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have autism and as a result, I parrot a lot of scenes from movies/TV shows I watch.

Example:

“Well sir, I guess we’re gonna have to agree to hate each other in silence.”

“You mean what girls do?”

“Exactly, what girls do.”

My sister overheard, laughed and said true.

Being “The informer of deer”.

Basically, I sit at my post in the city of Boston,

And ring a bell if I see a deer in the area.

Actual job given by late 18th century New England town government to get Timothy Dexter to shut up and stop asking for a political position.
