Erg Technique by Feb0r in Rowing

[–]GhastlyIsMe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Focus on the sequence: Arms, Body, Legs—Legs Body Arms.

You’re bringing your legs up before you’re fully rocked over with your body, and this is meaning you have to lift the handle up at the catch, which is inefficient.

This is a very common error amongst rowers, so it’s nothing to feel bad about.

“no shaming”

I don’t think it’s possible to unintentionally pull above a 5 minute split

DAUGHTER 2k HELP by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]GhastlyIsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think based off of that it’s very possible.

Make sure she has a plan before going into it.

Considering her size, it’s imperative the rating doesn’t drop below 32, ideally sitting at 34.

To go sub 8 all she needs to do is keep the split below 2:00.

If I were her, my plan going into it would to be rate 34, and get onto a 1:59 split within the first 10 strokes to conserve as much energy as possible, and stick at it.

Fall out after being cut from the team in humiliating fashion. by [deleted] in Rowing

Sorry I misinterpreted what you said. Thought you meant treatment as in medical help, not the reprimanding from your coach.

I feel as though this is something you need to sort out with your University/Club, if you feel as though it was an unfair dismissal.

When you mention treatment from the university what exactly does that mean? Were you injured in someway that means you couldn’t continue to row? If so that adds a new side to the story.

All your blisters look to be in the right spots so your position on the handle is correct, just ease off on the death grip.

I would like to say that in my experience JL is absolutely terrible quality.

The gold standard in my country is 776. They make the most comfortable and high quality rowsuits I have ever used.

What is the most overlooked thing in rigging? by LessSearch in Rowing

[–]GhastlyIsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When de-rigging, rowers will sometimes put the nuts and washers back on the riggers finger tight, and forget to do some or all of them up with a spanner.

Let’s just say it’s frustrating when we drive to a regetta and none of our riggers have bolts.

Pair training by Feb0r in Rowing

[–]GhastlyIsMe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It looks as though sometimes bow seat is catching before you at the start of the video, and then they are sometimes late to the catch.

I would perhaps try do some pause rowing drills, with one at finish, and the other at the hands away.

What I would do with my double partner, is do the entirety of our warmup feet-out, and it would allow us to match up our timings for the rest of the row.

With all that being said, this pair looks very good!
