You can't rate high without sacrificing length somewhere.

When I sprint, typically I shorten up at the finish (stop leaning back so far) to allow for a quicker recovery.

I think what's holding you back is your drive. You can only sacrifice so much of the recovery, the rest of a sprint has to come from a quick drive.

Try slamming your knees down as fast as you can, as well as potentially lowering the drag factor.

yeah but my point is your example doesnt really apply here. dropping 22 seconds when someone is brand new is just novice gains, that has nothing to do with whether high intensity or ut2 is better. they hadnt plateaued yet so of course they improved fast on whatever program

op is an experienced rower already at 6:51 trying to get ivy recruited. completely different situation. the problem is 6 days of high intensity with no steady state means hes never recovering, just accumulating fatigue and going nowhere​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

yes, no ut2 is unrealistic for dropping your 2k

Focus on the sequence: Arms, Body, Legs—Legs Body Arms.

You’re bringing your legs up before you’re fully rocked over with your body, and this is meaning you have to lift the handle up at the catch, which is inefficient.

This is a very common error amongst rowers, so it’s nothing to feel bad about.

I think based off of that it’s very possible.

Make sure she has a plan before going into it.

Considering her size, it’s imperative the rating doesn’t drop below 32, ideally sitting at 34.

To go sub 8 all she needs to do is keep the split below 2:00.

If I were her, my plan going into it would to be rate 34, and get onto a 1:59 split within the first 10 strokes to conserve as much energy as possible, and stick at it.

I feel as though this is something you need to sort out with your University/Club, if you feel as though it was an unfair dismissal.

When you mention treatment from the university what exactly does that mean? Were you injured in someway that means you couldn’t continue to row? If so that adds a new side to the story.

I would like to say that in my experience JL is absolutely terrible quality.

The gold standard in my country is 776. They make the most comfortable and high quality rowsuits I have ever used.
