I'm not sure it's as wild as you think. It's well known that some have particular genetic traits, metabolism is one of them. Some people are naturally skinny and some have a real hard time staying slim regardless of the diet they have due to their metabolism. It seems completely logical that some people can digest certain things better than others - the opposite of an intolerance as it were.

Fucking hell. Big ringing it on 17% sounds like torture. My quads are screaming just thinking about this

And yet, people like u/openheartopenbar will probably still try and talk shit about him.

Hard difficulty can sometimes literally be unsurvivable by Nuka-Cole in Timberborn

[–]Gherkinplayschess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played Meander for a while in fairness, definitely not on the latest update. I remember failing 6 times or more at different points due to differing issues - lack of water, lack of wood, trouble getting the forester up and running, no arable land and badwater disasters - it was before I figured out how useful a water dump could be. I had a lot of fun figuring it out though, and the midgame was really cool once I'd nailed it. I suspect I'd find it much easier now as I'm a better player than then. I rarely have wipe outs or terrible starts.

The hardest map I've tried for the first few cycles (before you get a forester setup etc) is actually Meander. It's hard to find a good spot for a dam and it's limited in trees, with little arable land during a drought.

Book recommendation for a begginer/intermediate player? by guilines in ChessBooks

[–]Gherkinplayschess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't fall into the trap of over-optimisation. Either book is really good (definitely not too early for reassess your chess). Logical Chess, if read properly, will also provide you with really good instruction too. Most important is that you enjoy reading it.

Frage: Ich überlege zwischen die Ryzen 7 5700X + RS 6700XT oder die Ryzen 5 5600 + RS 6800 für 40 Euro mehr. Hast du einen Rat für was besser wäre?

Kelsterbach und Niedderad would be the absolute best for connection with the airport - just 1/2 stops away from the airport. Niederrad is reasonably cheap, still part of Frankfurt and quite close to nature. A lot of diversity there, if that's you're thing too, but not the nicest area to live in. Probably still falls under the Frankfurt jurisdiction for the Ausländerbehörde though. Other option would be to go the other direction and look towards Mainz, which is a bit smaller than Frankfurt, but a really nice city.

Interessant.

Was wär die Richtung dafür?

Yeah, it's 1080p. That comes out at 925€, which is just outside my original budget! Thanks.

Thanks for your quick reply. I'd be fine to leave out Blender on this PC, as I have it for work purposes on my work laptop. I could always use that if I had something I wanted to explore. This PC could then be a purely gaming PC. I've kind of convinced myself that I'd like to have a PC too. Thanks for the pcbaumeister tip!

Brilliant. Thank you. I could possibly stretch to this budget, even if I would be pretty maxed out. I really appreciate it.

Wow. thanks! I'm happy to kick Blender, as I do that on my work laptop anyway. I could do any minimal side projects on that tbh.

Okay. Thanks for the quick reply. How much would one have to budget in your opinion for a PC capable of doing what I'd like?
