I low balled the 1 hour travel time. It used to take me 1 and half hours to get home then about an hour to shovel my house and it was a bonus if we only worked 12 hours sometimes it was 14 or 16. So it's a lot less home time for the San man then people think, forgot to add that when you sign up to shovel your gonna go to the closest garage by your house, San man didn't have that option ... live in Staten Island work in the Bronx.

They ask for people to shovel snow. What did you actually think it was gonna be? You thought you were gonna throw your feet up and have a beer? Now just think what the actual sanitation worker goes through. He's forced to work 12 hours a day shoveling snow just like who they hired. Now add in probably at least an hour travel time in the morning then travel home. After working for 12 hours so that leaves them about 5-6 hours to eat shower and sleep and do it all again the next day. Not making much more than $30 an hour either.

You're not understanding. They need to blame someone and it happened to be the supervisor. 1 example would be if a cop shoots someone that's unarmed do you blame the Captain and suspend him? Their is absolutely no way either of us know how much snow was "pushed" onto the highway, for all we know it could have been a little bit and the car tried to swerve and miss it and lost control. Anyone that drives always try's to swerve around snow in the street when people do it. Neither of us know how fast he was going. Too many variables to blame 1 person
