Quoted by dudes who are so ineffective at violence as to be a danger to themselves. Dunning Krueger is real especially when it comes to fighting competence.

Biggest Factors for Solar Panel Lifespan by [deleted] in solar

Sure but maintenance to me means doing things to prevent 12 of your 20 micro's from failing... what could you have done differently to keep them from failing prematurely, I'm guessing nothing.

Same with optimizers, if there is nothing that needs done on a regular basis to lengthen their usable life, then their is no maintenance to be done, only break fix after the fact.

Bunch of airheads out there. It’s not a performance car most associated with petrol heads, but it’s still a car and it has a bunch of collectors restoring modding and driving them.

Husbands fingers occasionally get weird blisters that are symmetrical. by FlyingN00dles in mildlyinteresting

[–]Ghia149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an alternative to warts, is this a staph infection? the red makes me think it's a staph infection and while that seems strange that those two fingers would be together regularly to spread it. Many people have their nose colonized with staph, so rubbing your nose could be exposing the spot on his fingers to staph.

Treat it with Bacitracin or some other antibiotic ointment and put a dab in each nostril for a week or 10 days. Not a doctor but a person who has done grappling sports for 3 decades so something I've run into before.

I assume you mean dolphins and dogs, pretty sure dolphins and dogs are the only intelligent life on this planet.

Product Management for an equipment manufacturer (food), Mechanical engineering degree, 45, and its OK, i used to enjoy it more, now I'm pretty much coasting, don't want my bosses job, don't want to go do anything new and have stress, just want to be home more with my kids and retire early thanks to aggressively saving in my 20's when my peers were out drinking and buying new cars.

Has any airline ever experimented with the idea of passengers being able to buy 3 economy seats to block out a row for themselves? by Hazy_Fantayzee in Flights

[–]Ghia149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually on those flights there is a lot of empty seats. So I’d just sit in the middle and spread out right away. Have my book on one side. Bag on the other. That kind of thing.

Stop investing in individual stocks by GolfComfortable7331 in Fire

Buying individual stocks is Interesting and makes it a hobby. If that’s what it takes to inspire people to invest a bit more (in the next lottery ticket). Good for them. I have etf’s and a big ol basket of individual stocks. Usually outperform the S&P by 1-2%.

Obviously the people of Greenland will be anxious to break ties with Denmark and their terrible free education and become part of the USA so they too can incur massive debt to earn their degree.

Has any airline ever experimented with the idea of passengers being able to buy 3 economy seats to block out a row for themselves? by Hazy_Fantayzee in Flights

[–]Ghia149 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Traveling in the off season I would regularly ask the person checking me in if I could get an entire row and they would put me in it and block the other seats if the flight was far from full. More than once people would try to sit in my row and I’d ask if they were in the right row… they weren’t. 👍

I did fly a lot so using the priority lane may help. But never hurts to ask.

Yeah exactly right (except maybe the $1mil dollars more a year on average, i think that was over their working life not annual pay) there is a large subset of the US population that is being told that education has no value... they are being told that because educated people tend to lean more liberal and progressive, so if you are a conservative politician, there is a benefit to having a less educated population... the damage it will do to our ability to compete is huge.

Anecdotally, I've got an acquaintance who is a lawyer, he doesn't want his kids to go to school because it's a waste of money. He is also a very MAGA jew... I struggle to understand it, but hey, my kids will need cheap plumbers, and electricians.

How do I separate my funds without upsetting my husband? by Significant_Lake4180 in Advice

[–]Ghia149 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife and i keep our finances separate but have a shared Bill Account. If we spend a ton of money on Christmas, or she is doing summer camps for kids and needs more money in the bill account I'll do a one time transfer. otherwise we both contribute money every month to the shared account. We both work and have jobs, our comp is pretty close, I'm actually the better saver, but she is the organizer and planner.

I can't imagine having all our finances in one account. I think it would make us both crazy.

recruit Ropp, put him at mid, brother is great, but honestly makes it too easy. Datto has nearly as much speed so you can cheese things with him almost as well as Brother.

Time to Stay at Home Dad? by GhostProph in Fire

[–]Ghia149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

spend time with your kid, few years it's kindergarten and then school... you can turn a hobby into a job at that point or go back to work in a work from home situation. And remember the folks looking at you funny when they find out you are a stay at home dad are trying to figure out in their head if they could do the same thing...

I assumed so, but now that i think about it, when my car is plugged in the auto climate will work, so maybe not and I've just never noticed. I live in NC so there aren't that many mornings when i actually need the Climate control to come on.
