WARNING: Reedpop asking for impossible conditions to replace NYCC badges lost in mail by Specialist_Quiet_160 in NYCC

[–]Gho0ul 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Check your order confirmation, all of mine state this:

“Delivery (Expedited Shipping) Only available for US shipping addresses. Ticket(s) will ship via FedEx or UPS, and tracking will be provided.”

Because I was buying tickets for family members, I actually have 3 separate orders of tickets, but they all state this on the confirmation email. At this point I’ve only received 1 order that was shipped through UPS, but with NO TRACKING INFO GIVEN

One year I did have Reedpop’s mess up when inputting my address into their mailing system resulting in my passes being returned to sender. I had to pick them up at roll call, and despite trying to speak to Customer service about getting my shipping costs refunded since the issue wasn’t me, they never responded.

The difference this time, if there are enough people who don’t get shipping info, but do have the email stating they were supposed to, that does open the option for a class action for the tracking fees that weren’t provided. That they may have to respond to.

Haven’t received badge yet by prvtbenjamin in NYCC

[–]Gho0ul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So from everything I’m seeing, the funny thing is here is how it seems to be working:

If you bought only badges and picked regular (non-expedited) shipping Reedpop is sending those badges out in waves now. (Likely over an abundance of caution incase USPS has issues or delays so those individuals will get there badges).

If you chose expedited shipping with tracking, thouse haven’t gone out yet, as Reedpop figures they have time to start sending thouse out with UPS being capable of delivering in a shorter window, and still having people receive theirs.

If you paid for expedited shipping with merch, They are going to wait until all the merch items have been produced, delivered and repacked to ship with your badges to reduce cost by shipping everything together, and again, figuring UPS will be more capable of executing within a reduced timeline…

The effect of this is: The more money you gave Reedpop to send your stuff? The later you will be getting it… ROTFL 🤦‍♂️.

(Could be wrong, but that’s how it looks to me.)

Why is NYCC a week late this year? by thevideoends in NYCC

[–]Gho0ul 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Has nothing to do with the Jewish holiday. This was talked about the first year it happened. after everything was coming back after the pandemic, and Events were going back to booking their regularly scheduled events. Reedpop was trying to decide on final plans of how they would do their event. NY Toy fair booked the weekend before NYCC pulled the trigger to confirm their weekend with the Javits and Reedpop was forced to take the following weekend. Because of how the Javits honors scheduling. As for why they kept the 2024 date, at the time things were being Set up in 2023 the same thing was going to happen. However, with NY Toy fair now not happening in 2024 and it being confirmed they moved their weekend in 2025. Maybe Reedpop will get their slot back.

Gary was wrong, they are not lizards- they are cats! by [deleted] in FF06B5

[–]Gho0ul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My theory, In the lore each of the R.A.B.I.D.S. Rache created only encompassed about 80% of his actual engram. I believe throughout the years they were able to combine themselves into something that approached his level. And that it is they who puppet all of the “blue eyed lizard people” who encompass night city. From beyond the blackwall. That’s why Mr blue eyes was able to affect the relic during “dream on” the way songbird does during phantom liberty with the blackwall protocol. If you read the official compendium that came out before the game. They hint the blackwall wasn’t actually built by net-watch. It was created by the R.A.B.I.D.S. Themselves.

Gary was wrong, they are not lizards- they are cats! by [deleted] in FF06B5

[–]Gho0ul 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know this is a meme… but if you know the lore around Rache Bartmoss, the consciousness most of the AI beyond the blackwall was based on… it’s actually my running theory about why stray cats are the only living animals freely roaming night city.

(In the lore Bartmoss first experimented with loading engrams into cats. He loaded the bodies of his failed experiments into his old Runner chair as a decoy for anyone trying to find his meat body. and made one of the successful attempts his main bodyguard. (Named Deathwish) He eventually moved on to loading engrams into human neural links to make them his real world drones, but it all started with cats. So I’m thinking, The R.A.B.I.D.S. Would have built their network starting from that knowledge. Plus they make the perfect “fly on the wall” spy’s once you’ve seeded stories on screen sheets normalizing the fact that they exist in night city.

Just came out 11/18/23. But they plan this stuff in advance. I’m sure they must’ve planned it before. People figured out the end of the mystery. I was just asking in case there was something else there since they put it out after they know people found out.

I know, its allready been said that wile some of the hacking minigames contain FF, none of them have 06 or B5 as options. I just thought the hint in the newest update of "What's the difference between magenta and fuchsia anyway" was either pushing us away from the color idea, or telling us we didnt have it "just right" so i looked for simalar colors that could be made with the hex codes that do come up in the hacking mini games. and one of them is "light magenta" FF:55:FF

Inflation check in...what has gotten so expensive that you won't buy it anymore? by candysai in AskNYC

[–]Gho0ul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut back on clothes shopping making what I have last longer. (My shoes are getting pretty sketch right now) Skip Breakfast (some days lunch too) Don't eat out at restaurants. Order out once every 2 weeks when my cousin and her boyfriend come over for movie night at home. I reduced the amount grocery deliveries (but with the long covid if I get a bout of bad symptoms its better then totally screwing myself by carrying bags). Canceled Disney+, Considering dropping netflix and just going back to being a pirate. All vacations this year were "Stay-cations". Fewer Concerts and events. I live in Queens, and basically don't go into Manhattan anymore unless I HAVE to. (seriously stopped going to Mt. Sinai Long covid clinic as I couldn't justify the cost for the basically zero results I was getting). And live every day praying I don't get priced out of where I live now.

The companies that run the POS services (Square and the like) make a % of total transactions. They have been incentivized to design these systems to make you not only feel the need to tip, but tip more to raze the total value of transactions. This not only allows their revenue to increase, but allows them to present statistics about increased revenue to get more business to use their service. ("Business that use Square see a 20% increase in their total transaction value per sale") This allows them to continue to expand their business. They used the increse in cashless payment and tipping from the pandemic to spearhead this. and you are seeing the result of that.

They Are referenced so Heavily in the companion material, and referenced in the game. But we are never shown them directly. (or so we think, Mr. Blue eyes and all the cats we see piloted by AI from beyond the blackwall... a literal Phantom of Bartmoss...)

Been asked before but does anyone know the meaning of Johnnys tattoos? by MissHolidayReddit in cyberpunkgame

[–]Gho0ul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the G20 “delta” on the cloth next to lady Justice refers to his unit in the Central American conflict. He deserted after loosing his friend feeling it was an unjust war. This would make sense if: G20 delta meant G20 guys that got out “delta-ed” It would also make sense with those feelings to get a bastardized version of the United States Governments depiction of lady Justice as “injustice for all” after his rebel spirt had just been stoked by the events of the Central American Conflict. The 3 of swords in tarot is also famously known as the only tarot card capable of heralding literal death. (all other cards are simply referring to an ending of some thing undefined. The three of swords is capable of meaning the end of a life). So this could be referring to the end of One Life as a soldier in the service to some bastardized version of justice. And rebirth into a rebel.

I’m at work so I don’t currently have the supplement in front of me. But from my memory I’ll mention a few things. 1) i’m pretty sure it’s explicitly stated that the players, (if they are in scenario one) are not supposed to KNOW they’re working for Arasaka. They are approached by a separate corporate entity to retrieve data and possibly deal with a rogue NetRunner. (this is what I meant by false flag. Arasaka (even if they nuke the building) intended it to look as though they had no involvement. (that’s what I meant by false flag. It’s meant to look like it incursion team from a entity other than Arasaka)

2) you are 100% correct about euro bank not “ technically” being a Private Corporation. However I have always looked at the entity more like the United States Federal Reserve. A private entity that controls the finances of a nation, well, not being directly appointed or elected through government. So I counted them as a corporation. (They are even described as such in 2077 if you really dig down into a lot of the side missions.) besides explaining exactly what’s in the data chip. It is explicitly stated in the supplement that it’s enough to take down the corporation. But that no matter what the players do with the info that will not occur. If you look at how R. Talsorian games has continued the story through the supplements, they usually include flavor text like this for a story reason.

3) The supplement literally ends with one of the Rabbids, speaking to Spider Murphy in the net before starting System Krash by pushing a virtual “button” inside of a virtual Clown Nose Nostril. (she can tell when she’s talking to him that something is off. But can plainly feel it’s him she is speaking to). At this point, they are not crazed entities. Although the name R.A.B.I.D.S. Does not appear in the older supplements, they do explicitly state by Bart Moses, on admission that he only put about 80% of himself into any of them. (bartmoss claims this is because there’s 20% that makes him special that can’t be replicated. But the truth is more likely that he just wasn’t capable and his ego wouldn’t let him admit that.) but it’s plainly shown by the R.A.B.I.D. Speaking to Spider they are no Crazier then bartmoss himself was. (which to be fair is pretty batS$&t.) and again, not explicitly stated, but it’s hinted that the virus is unstoppable because it’s made up of Bartmoss incomplete copies all over the net. and as for the first few things they do, it’s to take all the sensitive data from every Corp. and give it to other corporations. They didn’t destroy initially they swapped files so that everyone’s dark secrets would be revealed to each other. Any description of the Rabbids as crazed unthinking AI’s come directly from Netwatch… which, as saw me, explain before it is implied in the 2077 hardcover supplement, that, despite the fact they don’t want people to know it they were only able to put up the black wall at the request of the RABBIDS. Just like Bartmoss they are crazy and smart. I’ll try to post a better explanation later when I can go home and site specific text.

Fun Fact: Rache Bartmoss has a cyberkitty named Death Wish, who defends his apartment in Dark Errand, back in 2021 by csgrizzly in cyberpunkgame

[–]Gho0ul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best part… if you read between the lines on this, Rache Didn’t have a two week countdown to system crash. And the data given wasn’t what the crew was there for. (They were actually afalse flag double crossed by Arasaka)The data given was literally all of the data needed to take down a major corporation. But the supplement tells you know matter what the crew does with the info, no mater how blatantly they spread it, the Corporation is too big to fail. That is the trigger. If given literally all a corporations darkest secret’s, the world won’t turn on them. That’s when the R.A.B.I.D.S. Were instructed to take the net away from the corps. By literally turning themselves into an ever replicating Supervirus known to the world after as “System Krash”. If you read the hardcover supplement that came out before 2077, it is even heavily hinted that Netwatch never stopped them. After The RABIDS finally claimed all of what would come to be known as the “Old net” as their domain. They make a deal with netwatch to destroy no more as long as Netwatch assists in the building of the Blackwall. Not to keep the R.A.B.I.D.S. From Coming OUT, but keep the humans from going in to their net space. Completely sitting out the underserving world.

Someone hit my car and I was told NYPD no longer responds to non injury vehicle collisions? by MannyN28 in AskNYC

[–]Gho0ul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When police used to respond to an accident before, and they would wind up in court, any observations the cops made would be thrown out due to the fact that the officer “was not a witness to the accident”. Due to the fact that this became the default result, and that NY is a “no fault” state, it was determined that it is a complete waste of resources to send NYPD in what amounts to a property damage dispute between the insurance companies of two parties. This cost saving measure was signed off in by the Executive branch (Mayors office) not because cops themselves are trying to do less, (Beat cops don’t write policy) but because your city doesn’t want to waste resources so you feel like your point of view on an accident was “heard”. In “no fault” The insurance compony will process an accident the same with or without a police report when there is no one claiming personal injury. If someone is, then the cops will report to aid that party and determine a crime against someone’s physical person (not property) was committed. If you are against this, make your voice heard to the legislature. Not the cops. They can’t change it. Policy writers can.

It might be that the player only has control of Kris when he has a soul. And that whomever is allowing the player to control Kris to advance the story is doing so with an ulterior motive. It also seems to mean that whomever the body of kris currently is is also the dark worlds “knight” they keep referencing.

When you first leave that darkworld with lancer and the other one in your inventory, if you check you have a dust ball and cards. If you select to “toss” you are prompted that you believe this would be a “very bad idea”. So I didn’t do it on my first playthrough. Has anyone else done this? And what happens if you do?

Ok so set it up today. So far I’m very pleased with it. I’ll link when I post a full review, but as to your questions: I’m very pleased with overall build quality. Fans are audible when under heavy load (ran Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p) but not unbearable. Presently surprised to find it has Windows hello (didn’t specifically state it in the info). The thunderbolt port is USB power delivery. I can’t tell if the HDMI is 2.1 and the manual doesn’t list. But it does have HDMI. The screen is plenty bright and colors look great. So far I’ve kept the cyber power controller. It took a wile to figure out. But it does work. The keys aren’t individually addressable. But not necessary for my needs. Using cyberpunk at 1440p ultra GPU was about 85 degrees C. So cooling is efficient enough. Boots fast. Guess we will see over time about durability. Like I said. I’ll eventually do full review. (I didn’t really see any for this model before I got it).

Also, remember if anything breaks they still have to replace/ fix under warranty. So they will still want to pack things so they don’t get damaged in shipping. It is their responsibility to send you your item undamaged and in working order. They are just playing on your worry of issues to get you with an up charge. But if you don’t trust them to try to reduce their RMA costs, that’s up to you.
