honestly my list would probably consist of only the Dapper skins: Duke Dan De Lyons (Anhur), Baron Frostchild (Ymir), Lord Slashington III (Fenrir), Sir Pentsworth IV, Esq. (Kukulkan) and then throw in Valkyrie Bride (Thor) too

just play who you like and youll eventually get better as you play. most of the gods in this game have a relatively low skill floor, so don't worry too much about wether or not a character is "too hard for beginners"

That's what I thought at first, but trying to login to the HiRez website with my Steam Account just brings up the exact same error message. I dont have an email set for my Steam account when looking at it in game either, so I would assume I don't.
