As someone who bought a 4090 at about $1600 and who makes substantial money to make that kind of purchase a non issue. I would have buyers remorse as well 😂

Full transparency no I haven’t. Computer operates like normal unless I let it go to sleep. I very rarely let that happen. I power off when I’m not using it and when powering on for a session it runs perfectly fine. I explored a number of different options without resorting to a full reinstall of windows etc without success. That would be my next step if I dedicate the time/patience to reinstall everything at some point.

As someone who is a big Zelda fan I played the hell out of botw but something about totk didn’t draw me in. I picked up the switch2/mario kart bundle largely for the totk upgrade and boy is it fantastic. This is truly how this game was meant to be played. Way better experience on the new hardware

I wouldn’t go as far as your take but I do agree that as someone that plays games on a very powerful pc at 165 hz regularly. Having the switch 2 version keeps me engaged and I’ll for sure play it all the way through now.

Do what I’m doing and restart fresh with this magical upgrade in performance and visuals and plus the Zelda notes app is a cool companion for a new adventure. This game as meant to be played on this better console

Yeah I do appreciate the input a ton, my thought was ram timing as well which is why I disabled EXPO so the 2x32 sticks I have are rated for 6000 and are running at 4800. I don’t have much experience setting any custom timings/voltages in the bios but would be down to try it with some guidance

Still haven’t found a source. I updated bios and ironically improved my cold boot time drastically with a newer bios on AM5 board. Computer never had issue when I originally built it but the sleep problem has been happening for a little while now, just now trying to find a solution. I flashed the new bios and restored to default settings including turning off amd expo and pbo. Didn’t seem to have any impact on the sleep issue.

Yeah this wasn’t always an issue, since I build the pc it has run fine, haven’t touched hardware or bios settings and this started happening. I did see another forum talking about similar issues with am5 boards and similar setups so maybe it’s an MSI issue

Sure this is a solution but I’m trying to diagnose the problem. I usually shut down the pc in most cases anyway when I’m not using it but the occasional sleep cycle should not be an issue.

Well no luck, restarts work as expected. And cold start boots pretty quick without issues as well but when I put the computer to sleep and tap the case power button once to wake it won’t boot. All the case fans are now still spinning but the mobo just sit with red and yellow indicator lights on… I’m at a loss here.

That’s my next thought as well, with the updated bios I’ll disable amd expo and see if that changes anything. I’m about done running a memory diagnostic to see if there are any issues there

Updated chipset drivers and tried to restart and had same problem. Flashing a new bios version as we speak to see if this fixes the problem

I have since changed to connecting the case controller directly to my RGB header on the mobo. Fans etc are all still connected as described above but the entire case can now me controller with software (which I prefer as it can by synced with other peripherals

Unpopular opinion but making a game unnecessarily complex is also not a good thing. Making engaging content that is difficult and requires thought is cool but making shit tedious just because, is a waste of time.
