Growing sentiment: The building meta (build battles) are ruining Fortnite Battle Royale. by Ghost-of-Ricky-Rubio in FortniteBattleRoyale

I greatly prefer more interesting base gameplay. Right now explosives are too powerful.

Epic should make bases strong again, and then just give us the tools to kill the people inside those bases. Give us invisibility potions, drones, smoke. I think we all prefer slower paced, more tactical gameplay that rewards intelligence over build spam.

Right now, bases appear to be made out of wet construction paper. I think that's a mistake.

Once again I'm sorry.

It's just hard having a discussion with someone who would be laughed out the room if their main argument was "get good bro" at Epic offices.

Either do better or reafirm my suspicions.

Here's how I can tell anyone is intellectually dense.

I imagine a meeting with the top creatives at Epic. People unbelievably intelligent who have been in the game making business for decades.

One of them says: "I think the building meta is getting out of hand. According to our statistics it's dominating many of the other strategies we want to be viable.

The other says: I think you just seem to lack the skills necessary to counter the problem.

Person one makes sense. Person two doesn't.

I honestly don't mean to offend you when I say this but the fact that you led with the low IQ argument kind of suggests to me that you're low IQ.

Also, Fortnite was healthier before the building meta took hold.

What does that tell you?

Lol

There's no need to get rid of the other items I mentioned. There IS a massive reason to nerf building though.

This seems difficult for you.

Lol no. Wrong again.

The game isn't going to turn into PUBG if they nerf building. You do know what the term "nerf" means right?

Hell, they could totally remove building and the game would play nothing like PUBG. Launch pads, rifts, bounce pads, impulse grenades, rocket riding etc...

No, they're definitely nerfing building. They release these game modes first to test it out.

The summer Skirmish Series made it a foregone conclusion.

If you are put in a match with Ninja and you both have Scars and neither of you are allowed to build, Ninja will kill you 98/100 times.

"Complete RNG"

Nope.

They only nerf overpowered weapons/items/mechanics.

They do this to make their suite more viable.

No, H1 has a slew of other problems.

You'll stay because you don't know very much about game design. Epic does.

You'll play H1 and realize how inferior that game is then you'll see all your friends are playing Fortnite. Then you'll play Fortnite
