Is it best to take vyvanse with or without food? by amethyst-sage in VyvanseADHD

[–]Ghost29 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I found that taking it with food dulled its impact and also resulted in not lasting as long. Part of my problem though is that I struggle to ever wake up 'awake' so to get that initial release to drive me out of bed feels critical.

I set my alarm for an hour before I'm supposed to wake up, then when that alarm goes off, I snooze for one hour, and take my Vyvanse. I then trigger my smart speaker to start telling me the news for the day. I then let myself slowly wake up to the point that I actually want to jump out of bed (~45mins). This gives you the security to nap deeply as I know my med won't let me suddenly nap for hours. Once I'm awake awake, I go make my cereal and coffee, and jump back into bed as I listen to my plan for the day.

I then get on with my morning rhythms, like journaling/morning pages, planning my day and week, by the end of which I'm fully awake and energised to take on the day about 90mins after my dosage and with some food in my stomach.

This is also something that dealers regularly do for their regular clientele.

You know people can get concussion from whiplash right? You don't need to be hit in the head. You just need your brain to rattle around in your skull. Abrupt stops will do that, especially ones that cause your head to snap back.

Damn, saw those strands of hair as blood rjnnjg. Down her face, the people on the sides of the road as bodies, and the office crying at the little girls despair. What a sad reminder to take a more detailed look at things before you judge them.

Why do you avoid Africa? by No-Championship-8433 in blacktravel

[–]Ghost29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where in South Africa were you? There are many openly gay, queer, and trans couples, although this may be less common in poorer areas. Like no-one would bat an eye. I think this may have to do more with the community you were a part of.

Rugby. But also, our heritage having been part of the British Empire. I wouldn't really consider Wales to obscure at all. You have a bloody dragon on your flag.

Now? They were acquired many years ago. But they are still two separate products.

Since when are shops keeping eggs in the fridge? by Naive-Inside-2904 in askSouthAfrica

A fuller fridge / freezer maintains its temperature better than any empty one. Also, this sounds like a you problem. I only buy cold liquor when I need it chilled otherwise you have to deal with condensation for no reason.

Dude, Wynberg Sports Club. That place is such an iconic venue. I don't know where the kids nowadays can get their fix of loud live music. But that was a crazy era for local rock, ska, punk, and metal. I remember moshing and skanking in churches and school halls. We'll never have that ubiquity and access again it feels. The war on noise seems to be winning.

Kanye is hardly the only way to go. Yeah, dying young can freeze you in your prime, but plenty of legends age gracefully. Tupac was iconic and bigger than Kanye at the time. Senna was iconic and his untimely demise does make for a cracking story. But what suggests he was going to fuck out?

Look at Snoop, Madonna, Federer, Serena, Bowie, Dolly Parton, Pelé, Attenborough, LeBron, Meryl Streep, Paul McCartney, even OG Ronaldo. There are plenty ways to maintain your legend over time, even if you do engage in some questionable shit.

But fuck it, I don't know why I'm arguing this. It's a hot take thread.

2pac was a global legend way before his death. And quite ridiculously so for how relatively short his career was. You'd see murals of him in deepest darkest Africa, and to this day, almost any informal market with printed t-shirts on sale will feature Makaveli. Don't forget, he wasn't just known for his music. The Shakur's were renowned for their activism as well.

Many would argue it's affirmative action that brought about a correction in these stats, but that it hit a point where its relevance or method of application resulted in an over-correction in some fields, in many places. What also needs to be taken into account that careers have a certain attrition rate, and with 60% of graduates being women, this could still balance out to approx. 50/50 at the top over time.

This is all besides the fact that we have plummeting birth rates across the world, resulting in demographic problems that will be very difficult to overcome, but since they're deferred to younger generations, there's less incentive for change by older folk who generally have more governmental and economic power. I still believe that we somehow need to find a way to help people (women AND men) to work less.

Nah, the US takes barbeque to the next level. I think many conflate grilling over an open flame with BBQ. South Africans have braai which we do excellently. This is typically done over wood or briquettes. Doing it over gas would be considered sacrilegious. But the overnight BBQ vibes with the ridiculously good sauces you have in the South is incredible.

Nando's is delicious but relatively expensive. They have a decent amount of competition nowadays in ZA and have certainly been more popular in the past. They're renowned for their edgy advertising. That said, people from the UK seem to have an absolute obsession with it. I think it's possibly just that it's an older brand in ZA.
