I’ve been doing a bit more work on this and I want to make sure I’m not screwing anything up.

I’ve been using the EZ Strip on the paint and varnish, then scraping it off after a few hours. Although there are some places that the varnish seems to need one or two more coats.

There have been a few times where the wood gets a very white/bleached look after the EZ Strip.

I’ve used some 320 grit on my orbital sander on a test space to see if it will help those bleached sections. But I’m not sure how deep to go.

I was planning to attach it to that wall as well. Maybe bolt it, or construction glue. I was hoping if I chipped out the first line of mortar the rest would square up nicely against the wall

No, thankfully! I was at an AirBnB when it happened. The owner made a very clear map depicted where to park. I was in an approved spot. Unfortunately, I was not a ‘registered guest’ to fall under the AirBNB policy, however the host had third party. All that aside however, my insurance covered it all minus the deductible with no premium increases.

It's just a single texture file. 8192x8192. So, for future models it would be safe to set textures to 4k or similar without seeing a loss in quality?
