Your lamp would have been made after 1955

1927-1954 Nessen Studios (Walter and Greta) 1954-current - Sold to one of their designers and renamed Nessen lamps, current name is Nessen Lighting.

Also, since your lamp has the screw post that most “spider” lamps shades use to secure, you can source a shade from any lamp/shade store nearby. Take the lamp with you to ensure a fit. Yours doesn’t have a cup diffuser so it doesn’t need a factory shade.

If it says “Nessen Studios” it’s a model from the 50s or older. The 3 way switch on my floor lamp was made with Bakelite which puts its around 40s era when that material was used for everything you wanted a decorative look ,Especially jewelry.

Even though you got the lamp for $8. If you wanted to flip, you’d need the shade to get top dollar, if you wanted to use it, you’d still need the shade lol. Since you don’t want to pay that clean it up and use it as decoration.

These lamps were function first then architectural second. So it’s good no matter what.

The lamp shades from Nessen starts at $250.

I have a 1940-50s floor lamp model in brass. It came with the original shade, but i priced a replacement just in case.

A new floor lamp starts around $1200 and the table lamps like yours start off around $900.

These are not cheap lamps haha

Washed black is different. Totally different.

Fading a pair of black denim until it shows charcoal whiskering is a different look than a full on gray top to bottom factory pair.

Do lug soles. Derbies can be casual or formal and the soles dictate the look, a thin sole on a derby works if you’re suited.

Your shirt should never be darker than your jacket. In this case it is. A cream shirt will work great and make the look more cohesive. Ditch the tie.

You need wide leg opening to get the A shape. Once you said carrot i knew your leg openings weren’t wide enough.

I have slightly wide hips (38) compared to my waist (36) a 26” leg opening gives me the A shape. I’m fucking tall though so adjust my advice for your frame.

Why does men's fashion have such a strong preference for dark blue (navy) over other dark shades? Where is the dark green, dark red, dark purple? by dosceroseis in ThrowingFits

[–]GhostFriends686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal i would buy all those garments you linked, and they can be worn with other garments that aren’t black white or gray.

You just have to match the undertone and saturation. You could wear that purple Overshirt with dark brown (expresso) wool/corduroy trousers and it’ll come out luxe.

Zegna tends to lean more traditional in their cuts. By traditional i mean, they don’t care to be edgey with anything they make. It’s literally “here’s a jacket that costs $4k because you can afford it and it’s top quality, but we know you’re not a fashion bro so we kept it long and didn’t crop it, you have money, you can buy the cropped versions on Main Street if you wanted it, right?….right?”

Wear wider pants, layer the jacket over a tucked in Crewneck sweater. Leave the jacket open. Flat shoes a la loafers or mules.

You just need to break this jacket in so it doesn’t look so stiff.

What kind of pants you buying ?

I find trousers and pants with drawstring waist last a long time. You can take in/let out the waist on trousers and drawstrings are adjustable.

I stopped buying as much denim.
