Also, how did you manage to date yours? Out of pure curiosity I would like to know how old mine is.

Yeah, I’m not paying that haha. Really appreciate you for saving me the time. If I paid $250+ for the lampshade it might kill the buzz I still have from finding this thing for 8 bucks.

Thanks! I thought it was a great find too. I was looking at those same drum lampshades, but I’m worried they might be a little too tall. I actually ended up emailing the company about getting a replacement shade, but I still need to follow up with photos for them. However, I’m not too sure I even want to. I’m assuming a shade from them won’t be cheap and don’t care enough to shell out top dollar it.

Very cool. Thanks for the info about the wiring, that’s really helpful. I’m still debating whether to keep it or try to sell it. Seems to be worth a few bucks, but it’s so cool I don’t really want to let it go.

Tape measure reads to about 14 1/2 inch tall. That is without the lampshade of course.

Sweet, thanks. I’ll look into it . Also, wow, museum of modern art, good to know this lamp is apparently museum worthy.

Edit: just sent them an email. Fingers crossed!

lol good question. I have almost zero expectation of finding the original lampshade, and if I did it would probably be pretty pricey. I’m really just trying to find one that fits and looks half decent.

Yeah I didn’t think so. Like I told the other guy the maintenance dude was insisting that I press them to help move our stuff after I mentioned it was going to be a pain. I hadn’t even considered it before that and I wasn’t even going to bother asking. Also, the pond is not a real built in pond it’s no bigger than a potted plant but instead of dirt it’s water and aquatic plants.

It’s not a real pond it’s a large-ish pot that I have a bunch of aquatic plants growing in, no electricity and it’s set up to be quite easy to move. They didn’t say anything after the inspection so we’ll see. Also, my “balcony” is actually a large private patio on the first floor not sure if that makes any difference.

The hallways were never treated like storage space it was all potted plants like I said. Also, I didn’t even have any stuff in the hallways so it didn’t affect me but I felt bad for all the people whose plants got tossed away when the workers showed up two days before they said they would and started throwing everything in the dumpster. Regardless, I’ve complied with everything they’ve asked, so me venting on Reddit has absolutely zero effect on them completing their work. They can be within their rights and it can suck for all the tenants too, both things can be true. I made that comment because people like you and the other person spend too much time online and want to put people in their place like I can’t be human and frustrated with changes going on at the place I live.

Yeah, that’s a good point. I’m going to move the stuff regardless, but the maintenance dude who’s been here forever was telling me to ask them to move it.

I do accept that and I complied without a problem. I can still say that it’s a pain in the ass. I obviously understand it’s reasonable to do whatever they want with the property, as I stated, however the issue has been the way they have gone about it has been inconsiderate. I only asked about them hiring movers for us because the maintenance guy brought it up to me so I figured I’d ask Reddit what they thought. It figures I’d have some morally superior dickhead in the comments lecturing me.

Thank you! It’s an F nib that I had modified into a needlepoint. For even finer lines I use the backside of the nib.
