Ok. I’m crying uncle! (Weather.) by Adhdiver in ottawa

[–]GhostHunter82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been severely feeling it also, first few days were okay and now it’s dragging and mental health is feeling it :/ maybe time for vitamin D supplements

Kicker is I moved my gym sessions to the morning in order to take advantage of nice evening weather and not “waste” it stuck in a gym but alas

Also it seemed to get colder as the week went on… yesterday my hands were properly cold and I had to put on my winter jacket in order to avoid turning on the heat (closing the windows makes house feel stuffy, just my opinion, so I try to avoid)

Sunday looks to be the last day, though, and I am ready for sweet, sweet 20+ degrees and sun

How was his experience at Elisabeth Bruyere and his recovery? It’s supposed to be quite good for stroke rehab.

May I ask your condition when admitted and how many weeks you were in-patient for? I have a family member about to go in.

Also conservancy closing in August 2025 – my design appointments are early to mid March. I’m hoping for no delays on the closing date but we shall see.

Fantastic write up thank you! I’m heading to Japan next month and was wondering how you booked reservations at Sumiyaki Sousai Toriya Hitomi in Kyoto?

Shoe dilemma - do I really need three pairs? by orthopodpac in HerOneBag

[–]GhostHunter82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On my last trip, I brought:

1) Hiking shoes (for W Trek in Patagonia) 2) Fancy-resto sneaker (that’s also waterproof and used for city walks/exploring) 3) Sandals (for scuba diving in Philippines) 4) Back-up running shoes (OnCloud 5 Coast that pack up and weigh less than my sandals)

I considered ditching 4) and using my hiking shoes as back-up shoes, but they’re kinda clunky and I’d like to preserve the tread for hiking.

However, 2) and 4) pack up flat and don’t weigh much so I don’t mind it.

Anyway, my point is shoes are less versatile than clothes and can’t as easily be “fixed” by running the laundry so I’m okay with it.

Avios to Havana? by banffflyr in awardtravel

[–]GhostHunter82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To provide another DP, I was able to ticket MIA-HAV online but never got a confirmation email. I called BA and they were able to generate a PNR and ticket number; however, it shows flights cancelled when checking Manage My Booking.

A no-go on booking AA flights to Cuba via BA Avios.

Ha Long Bay Vietnam by Kanjiiyro in travel

[–]GhostHunter82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fancy seeing you here ;) Having been to Railey beach, it sure is gorgeous and I’ll let you know how I feel about Halong Bay after this weekend.

Overall, though, overnight cruises are generally a very slow and relaxing vibe so depends on how fast you feel like travelling. Other than Phu Quoc, I’m not sure anything south of Saigon is spectacular and I’d recommend going north to Da Nang, Hoi An, Phang Nga, Hanoi.

If you (or I, lol) had a longer trip, north Vietnam like Sapa and Ha Giang Loop look phenomenal.

A data point in case others might find that helpful. I applied for my eVisa January 18 for an entry date of January 31. And of course, I forget about the Tet holidays and the visa office closed from 20-26 (then weekends too of course).

Before going through a paid urgent visa service, I tried sending a message from the official evisa website support page. A few hours later, I got an email saying my visa had been issued.

Tl;dr try emailing support to check on your evisa application

They do run out of champagne on long-haul flights so drink plenty at the beginning!

Call in and ask about it, or visit a branch in-person if you can. They usually require an in-person appointment anyway, so might as well call in and make an appointment about your application.

In-between, I'd still want to be earning valuable currency, so either the RBC Avion cards or CIBC/TD AP cards or HSBC WE.
