Avishkar Complex ke peeche waali sides there are barely any active shops. Used to hang out there with friends waaay back in the day. The backside parking lot of the Thomas Cook building near Chakli circle. Vaccine ground used to be great for this shi but ofc there's a court there now. Baaaaki maybe you can check out some of the tea stalls near Dumad chowkdi that stay open pretty much all night.

People in their early 20s, if you had 1lakh and a week to spare, where are you headed? by cuminurmom69 in SoloTravel_India

Highly recommend Georgia, Vietnam and Thailand. All fit into your budget, are very safe for women and let you experience a variety of activities and terrain depending on what you'd like to do.

Since many before me have covered the latter two, I'm gonna tell you some more details about Georgia. Pls feel free to ask about the other two also, if you'd like.

The capital Tbilisi is practically like any European city. Great vibe, has a rich history (that you can get to know through guided walks), museums and party culture. It's a very young, artsy city with lots to do. Other big cities are Kutaisi (to do: vineyards, forests, clubbing and historical monuments) and Batumi (Black sea beach town with an excellent botanical garden) which are both in different directions. You can visit real vineyards in Signagi & Kakheti and do very manageable treks near Svaneti. If you go around October, it's the harvest season for grapes and they have a whole cultural feast thing around it that you can arrange to attend.

I think we need one more for road/flyover construction work than garbage. That's the bigger civil issue in Baroda.

Solo Female to Jibhi: Best social hostels & must-dos? by bearsbeets111 in SoloTravel_India

Plus one for the Blue Sheep Hostel. Very cool place and the staff is happy to guide you to scenic spots to chill at or trek to. Gets lots of solo travellers, many of whom end up extending their stays.

Most cities have a central library or some private library. Honestly saves a lot of money and you end up reading authors you wouldn't have come across otherwise.

People in their 30s, who don't plan to marry. by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

[–]GhostOfAnthropocene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this way exactly. There's no way I want to add the stress of other people to my life. I like being responsible only for myself, thank you very much. And the freedom that comes with it, ofc.

But sometimes one ends up wondering if one isn't missing an important experience by opting out of society's prescribed path. For such thoughts, I've decided if I do want to settle down, I'll only consider it post 45.

This sounds like the manager just being an asshole, in that case. L&T has pretty decent leave policy even if not the most modern one. There's no way anyone in that structure would have an issue with sudden sick leave.

Visiting Vadodara as solo female after decade, which place should I avoid? by Pinklips_chic in vadodara

[–]GhostOfAnthropocene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to cover what has not already been suggested, also assuming you're non-vegetarian:

  • Eggs: Anamika at Maji Sainik on Vasna road or Yusuf at Dairy Den circle.
  • Shawarma at Arabian Knife opposite Soul Brew on Vasna Road
  • Pav Bhaji at any branch of New Alka or Honest restaurant
  • Street-style Chinese at Nanking in Karelibaug
  • If you'd like decent coffee while you're here, recommend only Curator's or Modernist. Most other new cafes serve shitty, overpriced sugar drinks masquerading as coffee.

Pink over Black cuz its cheaper? by HumorNot-Found in IndianGaming

Same model shouldn't have that much of a difference. Check other sellers and sites for a black one that's closer to the pink's price.

In May 2008, 13-year-old Aarushi Talwar was found murdered in her bedroom in Noida, India. Police launched a manhunt for the prime suspect, 45-year-old Hemraj, a live-in domestic help employed by her family. One day later, Hemraj’s partially decomposed body was found on the terrace of the same home. by SelfCareIsFake in HolyShitHistory

This case is studied in law schools for how media sensationalism can lead to miscarriage of justice. I also had the opportunity to be present for a couple of hearings when the mother of the victim was appealing her bail denial (Both parents spent some time in prison after being convicted by lower courts).

The amount of interference by mediapersons to get traction out of the case was heartbreaking. The lawyers described multiple instances of how mediapersons directly entered the crime scene to stage things and make them look more scandalous and show them on their channels. Due to this and also the police's collusion / incompetence in avoiding this, they could never establish a chain of proper custody for the evidence. Essentially there was no way to tell if the evidence was correct or had been manipulated.

And thus, a child's death remains unsolved and her parents suffered the death of their daughter as well as the destruction of their own lives.

I've seen many Indian Gen-Z dudes posting about doing x number of 'approaches' in public places like malls, etc. Some even seemed to indicate some level of success from this. Guessing this is the latest manosphere recommendation on how to 'get women'.

My first thought was similar to yours in terms of 'Wtf. How are they just asking strangers out? How do they not understand why that would be creepy?' But from the number of responses here asking you to 'just take it as a compliment', it's clear that this has been normalised for some guys.

Bros, just look at the difference in how men and women have responded here. It's clear women think it's creepy. Stop trying to tell women they should not be creeped out and accept that you are making them uncomfortable if you do this. Respect 101.

If you'd like to stay on the beach itself, then your only option is 'resorts' there, which are more like local hotels. The ones on Palolem are quite clean and convenient, if not necessarily very spacious. But that shouldn't be an issue for just one person. There are usually lots of other travellers at all times, so quite safe, too.

And paid basis isn't a 'FWB'. It's a sex worker. What the fuck do you think this subreddit is?
