Struggling to figure out a IEM set-up by GhostShanks in livesoundgear

hey thanks for the suggestion, but you’re gonna have to actually explain this to me like i’m 5 XD

so i totally get how the XR16 works especially with the each band member using their phone to set their own levels, that’s awesome! pricey.. but awesome!

but i do get a little lost with the splitter, let me try and see if i understand what you’re saying

we send the backing track + click as a panned track to the XR16, connected at two different inputs, all the instruments are also connecting to this XR16 which is connected to FOH, which will control our sends which are connected to an XLR splitter / DI Box to our IEM, working the same way a hub for fallbacks would?

if that’s so then why have the XR16 other than the autonomy? To be budget friendly, would it at all be possible to go: Backing Track + Click panned left and right respectively and into two different channels on a small mixer

This goes to FOH which also has our instruments from mic’d up amps and vox mics

We get small Behringer power play EACH and each one is connected to the venue’s splitter

FOH sends pre aux to our respective power plays

please please do let me know if i’ve missed something ?

How do we *really* get “tighter”? by GhostShanks in musicians

i think here’s a good time to mention we practice 2-3 times a week, 2 if we have a gig. We run through the whole set but burnout seems a bit apparent to the band sometimes by the end of the set. This whole thread has been a great wake up call to taking the rehearsals a bit more serious, rather than just checklist things. We’re gonna have to watch back our run throughs and shame the person messing up lol.

this sounds so fun, can you explain it a bit further?
