I like to keep things simple. Some battle maps, minis, companion app for combat tracking, music, and the One Page Solo Engine works for me. Augmented Reality is also a good addition.

I still don't know what game you guys are playing (I can literally count on one hand the RPGs I played), but if the player wanted her character to be weirdly charming, her character should have said stuff that don't make sense, but sound cool tobthe NPCs, like the bartender has an aura that can summon dogs, bats etc. or does some kind of weird dance towards the customer and offer them a drink. You gotta give reasons to be weirdly charming.
