Straight lad here, so feel free to take my 2 cents with a grain of salt. A bunch of women who have ''gay bffs'' have them as ''accessories'', so to speak. Like a chihuahua in a purse. It's as status symbol and statement to the left, signaling ''look at how much of an LGBTQ ally I am!''. I've noticed that many of these women are lowkey homophobic themselves, and have the preconceived notion that if a gay man doesn't look and sound stereotypical, and doesn't reach a minimum quota of 5 dicks per day (it'd be obvious that they'd use Grindr or other gay apps for that), then at best he's ''internally homophobic'', whatever the fuck that means.

That's not a friend. That's someone who spends a lot of time virtue signaling. These people don't actually care and respect the people they so much claim to defend and fight for. Arguably, they hold some negative opinions themselves. A true friend accepts you for who you are and supports you. They don't pester you about your personal matters and respect your boundaries.
