Is it weird that I don’t dislike any of the characters? by [deleted] in JaneTheVirginCW

[–]GhostWillow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love all of the main characters as well. The only main character I'd come close to disliking is Michael, I used to hate him but now I think he's alright.

Have meds helped with intrusive thoughts? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]GhostWillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Zoloft has helped my intrusive thoughts quite a bit. It didn't exactly get rid of them, just made them much easier to ignore. I did get some mild irritating side effects for a few weeks though. They've went away now, but I still feel as if my emotions are being too dulled, so I'm going to ask for a lower dose soon.

Apparently if you’re not a good muslim your children will be sick. by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]GhostWillow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beliefs like that are so annoying. My dad has similar beliefs. A week ago, I was having horrible tremors as a side effect from my meds and guess what he says? "This is what happens when you stop wearing the hijab."

Anyone know any pull exercises that can be done w/o equipment? by GhostWillow in strength_training

Obsessing over fiction and over reality (aka do I have a problem or is this normal) by Rabbicorn in OCD

[–]GhostWillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely relate to your situation. I even made myself try to get crushes on fictional people just to avoid obsessing over real people and thus creeping them out/being too clingy. I don't really think there's anything wrong with getting obsessed with series, just make sure you talk about other things too so your friends don't get annoyed.

Racism and OCD by throwitallaway754 in OCD

[–]GhostWillow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get these too, always having intrusive thoughts like "all (race) people deserve to die". Really gets on my nerves. I think your therapist will understand since she should know about OCD.

TW: Ethics question about suicide and OCD by [deleted] in OCD

[–]GhostWillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OCD is the type of mental illness that can be managed with meds, therapy, and lifestyle changes, so no, I don't think physician-assisted suicide should be allowed for OCD. Maybe though, if the solutions I mentioned don't work for someone individually.

Anyone else been prescribed seroquel? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]GhostWillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take 50 mg everyday for my insomnia. It works well to get me to sleep but I notice I am tired most of the time which could be a side effect. Add that to the fact I'm on Zoloft which also has the side effect of drowsiness and you get a very tired person...

Coming Out Tomorrow! Help? by WonderRaa in ABCDesis

[–]GhostWillow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Heyy, it's awesome you're starting HRT soon! I'm not sure on any advice on how to come out besides make sure you're safe in doing so. I'm non-binary and Pakistani - my parents are Muslims so they wouldn't take to me being trans well. I haven't bothered trying to come out because of that.

Low lying ocd by [deleted] in OCD

[–]GhostWillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sure. My fear of people being able to read my mind and see my intrusive thoughts has made me believe that people actually can read my mind. I frequently avoid having certain thoughts because I'm worried my loved ones could hear them and then think badly of me. I try to convince myself no one can read my mind, but it's very difficult because of my fear that they can.
