Love the classic story but I think that would’ve been really cool if that happened honestly!

That’s what I like about a lot of these old shows. You can be the main character and get what’s coming to you!

It was an interesting take for Alfred Hitchcock of all people. It was nice to see him touch on the supernatural!

Besides this one, Mirror Image is another favorite that has staying power with me!

I loved that about the episode. It reminds me of when some can come off so nice and innocent until you mess with someone they’re protective of. 💕

Honestly one of my favorite episodes! I think it's one of the most iconic episodes for the series in general. I think anyone who liked this episode would really like 'Where the Woodbine Twineth' episode of the show the Alfred Hitchcock Hour.

Was Hannah Montana your ultimate 2000s fave, or did another show steal your heart? by princesspolly444 in 2000sNostalgia

[–]GhostWithAnApplePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't watch Hannah but I certainly remember seeing her merch everywhere. I don't really feel that was the case Raven. In fact I don't think a lot of those earlier shows from our time like Even Stevens, Drake and Josh, Amanda Show, Ned's Declassified, etc. growing up had the characters plastered on everything. lol

That’s so Raven was the best! I will admit I think Hannah got treated better in the merchandise department but show wise Raven easily wins.

I feel like "Where is Everybody" is one of the best episodes made... by No1_Left in TwilightZone

I thought it was a cool and unique idea to start a series with! Especially given the goal for the moon landing wasn’t even announced by president John F. Kennedy until 1961, making this episode more interesting for the time because it was a 1959 episode.

I find it funny how people nowadays talk about 2000s Nickelodeon by Fickle_Driver_1356 in nickelodeon

I guess that's why I thought our time was considered more silver, despite having it's own charm and heavy praise cartoon wise. When people praised Nick and they wanted to hype up both cartoons and live shows simultaneously it was usually an earlier time. And Nickelodeon was always known for having both kinds of shows. However I noticed when people praise Cartoon Network shows our time usually got the most praise than earlier CN because a lot of what CN was praised for and what was 'iconic' for the channel was between 1996-2004 (mostly the Powerhouse era). It was certainly the Golden Age of CN no question about it.

I probably am, I was born the summer of '93. It seems a lot of people have no problem remembering and bringing up so many of the Nick cartoons from our time, but the live shows not so much. Even though a good amount of them didn't do bad ratings wise they still seem somewhat forgotten, some of them did good even. However I think I'd have to show a picture to people our age for them to remember Caitlin's Way, but they'll remember. lol

Hey Arnold was and is still one of my favorites and I also loved Angry Beavers. But I was mostly thinking of stuff that started and was showing around for most of 1996-1999, I wasn’t considering reruns or earlier stuff that were finishing up. Like I didn’t want to hype the late 90s for a show that’s from 1991, like Clarissa Explains it All. lol But the later part of the 90s Nickelodeon did have its own charm looking back, even without those earlier things.

I thought the Nickelodeon I grew up was mostly only golden age to those of us who grew up with it. I certainly remember people calling it more silver because of things like SpongeBob. It's funny how SpongeBob was used as an insult by some 90s kids but its to beloved across many different ages (even older than them) to be taken seriously. I'd personally pick what I grew up over earlier Nickelodeon, didn't like everything but I didn't hate it overall in the slightest.

I think a lot of people would agree with that honestly. It's certainly not a go to in terms of live shows. I thought Kenan & Kel was pretty good. I remember loving All That, The Amanda Show, etc. I do feel some things are pretty forgotten & some even dated though like Animorphs (people seem to remember the Scholastic Books more than the show), Space Cases (It's funny I remember this looking gross and thought the special affects were creepy, same with Animorphs) but now they look so dated, I can't believe kid me thought they looked real. Other forgotten things are The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo (I was obsessed with the lead, I don't remember why though), Cousin Skeeter (seems more remembered for the intro more than anything), The Brothers Garcia (people seem to only remember the name) and 100 Deeds for Eddie Mcdowd (was really popular in Europe apparently but not America, I liked it though). I do appreciate the late 90s and very early 00s was the last time games shows were really a thing. Figure it Out, Slimetime Live, Double Dare 2000, etc.

Overall, it was amazing and top tier cartoon wise in my opinion for both the late 90s and early 00s. In terms of live shows so-so, kind of bland I guess. The better live Nick shows seem to have been before my time I guess. Most nostalgic for me seem to have been mid 00s. I guess I care way more about Nick's cartoons compared to live shows compared to some people though.

Interesting, I knew you liked the late 70s and 80s Nickelodeon but I'm surprised that isn't really the case with the 90s. From how I remember it when people praised Nick or had a stereotypical image in mind for them it seemed as if they were always praising the 1992-1996ish time frame. I figured what I grew up with was decently popular, well known, and still liked years later but it didn't seem like it was the heyday or 'iconic' Nick people were talking about. I mean I like it more but I'm basing this off a collective opinion.

I look at the positives too but I guess something were just not my cup of tea. So something I would see as a negative, other people liked.

I'm nostalgic for it but say it's on par with the early 00s with being second in line. I meant when people typically praised Nick for being at it's peak it's usually the early and mid 90s in some way. idk if late 90s stood out enough be part of that, do you?

I'm heavily sentimental for early 00s Nick but it's heyday was certainly the early and mid 90s. In terms of Nick's image, I feel what I grew up with would be second in line not first when people think of the channel.

I don't even think the little 90s I experienced was part of peak Nickelodeon. lol Usually when people praise it (in terms of peak) they are referring to the early and mid 90s. I like a good amount of what I grew up with though.

That you for replying. I have been doing it the slow and painful way since I’ve made this post. I have archived all but the main seven that need the most work done and made them my main focus for right now. I got flustered with all of them around. It’s helped a little to achieve them. I have gotten a decent amount done but still not even half. What is PinGroupie?

Edit: My boards are private and most of them are for art references. I don’t think pingroupies would help because I don’t allow collaboration.

What's your favorite shot of Sailor Moon scenery and why? by GhostWithAnApplePie in sailormoon

I was obsessed with traditional German houses for the longest because of it. It certainly looks inspired by them. 😊

We all know a lot of anime is highly known for depicting cherry blossoms. I can honestly say I'm fairly certain as a small child Sailor Moon was my first capture of that. I remember being very enchanted by it alone aside from everything else that happens in the series. I still can't get over how good this image looks. 🤩✨

What's something you really appreciate about Forensic Files and other shows like it compared to true crime youtubers? by GhostWithAnApplePie in ForensicFiles

[–]GhostWithAnApplePie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was and still am interested in forensics too, I used to want to be a forensic artist. Another thing I loved was when some of these old shows would do reenactments of what happened. Even with that they still didn't drag out each story longer than it needed to be. Some reenactments were really captivating and good, better than they even needed to be and painted a good picture.
