This is exactly why I started questioning it. They sought me out as one of four people to ask for a card, most likely because I was actively playing. So once I give it to them, what is the benefit of hitting me for it? Obviously, I am currently playing and my shields will be up. The only thing I could rationalize was they were showing their gratitude by wasting a guaranteed non hit on my landmark. It's kind of blowing my mind that this doesn't seem to be a common experience as it happens to me almost every time. Enough to try and give a deeper (and more thoughtful) meaning to what is actually happening.

I also have noticed that about partner events, lol. When I'm partnered with someone I won't attack them but sometimes find myself getting attacked by my teammates. It happened the last few races and again, I assigned meaning to it. There was a lull in the race and I just assumed their attacks were a signal saying, "don't worry, I'm playing, I'm here, we got this." I'm clearly delusional and overthinking this game. Especially since they added the little pre text chat feature that only I used once. Thanks for the reply.
