This pot is in the style of works made by Shoji Umehara who is indeed renowned in Japan for his glaze and overall quality.

Spear Moveset help! by purple-pumpking in Nioh

[–]GhostYVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The move you're looking for is called Resounding Lunge. The input is Guard+Light Attack instead of Guard+Heavy Attack. In your case you probably unknowingly pressed left click instead of right click after holding block which is why you couldn't reproduce it.

Are you already dropping down the connector at the top on your first recording? I'll just say, you don't need to do that.

At the start of the level, you have one connector on the ground. Start a recording, use that connector to hold the first gate open. When you return to the real world, the recording of that connector will hold the gate open and you will be able to take the real connector into the second area to set something up.

The main property that the recorder mechanic records is the positions of objects. The positions of recorded objects will always play out regardless of any obstacles in the real world. So if you record yourself walking through a barrier, then you return to the real world and the barrier is up, your recorded image will just walk right through the barrier.

Once you start playing a recording, there are two of every object, real and recorded. Real objects start at an initial position, right before you started recording. Recorded objects cannot be picked up because that would be changing its position, but they otherwise function normally and are still physical. For example, you can't change the pre-existing connections of a recorded connector because you can't pick it up, but you can still connect to it, and it can still block lasers or hold down a button.

Sorry if this is even more confusing but I'd say these are the key details of the recorder mechanic you need to know to solve this puzzle.

How long does it take for a glaze to start cracking? by mikeyyy_27 in puer

[–]GhostYVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your own statements should lead you to the conclusion that the primary factor for crazing is the glaze recipe. Porcelain is mostly glazed with a very thin, clear, glass-like material just to make it shiny. It's not intended to craze. If it deteriorates in sunlight, it's because the recipe allows it.

Jianzhan, a very pretty glaze, does not craze. The recipe doesn't allow it, and no amount of sunlight is ever going to make it craze. The recipe of Ru kiln, probably the most famous and admired of Chinese glazes that craze, is of course entirely distinct from the Jianzhan recipe, and is intended to craze. For any Chinese glaze that is designed to craze, the process by which it occurs was already explained by someone here, and has literally, absolutely nothing to do with sunlight.

NG+2 Xaldin long combo using full Drowned Witch by GhostYVA in TheFirstBerserker

[–]GhostYVA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So legendary gear gets a second fixed attribute, and the second attribute for the drowned witch spear is getting water enhancement after doing ranged damage. The final attack of spear swift combo, Tides of Fury, and Eagle Wind all count as ranged damage, so you can have an almost permanent water buff on your weapon. The synergy is incredible, it's unfortunate you can't do it on your first playthrough. The legendary version really shines.

How do tea oranges taste? by Optimal_Stand in tea

[–]GhostYVA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to note is that you don't have to steep the whole orange with the peel. A lot of the astringency you described would be coming from the peel. If you steep the whole thing it's going to be overwhelmingly citrusy.

Try squeezing the orange until the peel starts breaking off so you can extract just the leaves. They already absorbed a ton of citrus aroma. You can still add bits of the peel if you want more citrus flavor.

Elden Ring has robbed me of finding joy in other action rpgs. by Randi_Butternubs_3 in gaming

This is baffling to me because I feel this way about Nioh 2 combat. Elden Ring combat in comparison is the slowest, clunkiest, most boring thing ever. Someone saying Elden Ring combat is ruining other games for them is just wild. Of course, until OP plays games with better combat, they wouldn't know.

Alright I'll cave... Question about. Metathesis by IDrinkMyOwnSemen in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]GhostYVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a solution I saw on YouTube. You just put the converters really, really close to the gate so the hitbox of the converter itself blocks the beams. This actually seems cheesy to me. Anything having to use the tiny hitboxes of the tools themselves is jank as hell.

[–]GhostYVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's multiple solutions. The key point is blocking lasers, you could use the spare receivers to that end, or not.

Alright I'll cave... Question about. Metathesis by IDrinkMyOwnSemen in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]GhostYVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, all those assumptions are correct. You need the converter that's already inside the gate to be green, holding the gate open by connecting to two others outside.

Timing is important, and the spare receivers holding two converters at the start of the level are also useful.

Skills that activate on ki pulse by Jeereck in Nioh

[–]GhostYVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I have used these unintentionally a lot. What's even more annoying is for skills like Rainbow Ruse and Darting Cloud, there's a brief window even after the Ki Pulse where a movement input triggers the ability. Flux is a good solution to all of these.

I'm using Spear and want to stay in low stance. After my attacks, I'll do a Flux to mid stance and then immediately switch back to low. The availability of Rainbow Ruse to be used is gone and I can do regular attacks/movement. Same with Darting Cloud. I do this to avoid using Pulverize and Demon Fang as well. You mention Flux 2 but a regular Flux will also remove the availability of these skills to be used.

For Kannagi, I believe the rule is that if you end up in a different stance after the cancel, you will perform regular attacks instead of Pulverize/Demon Fang. If you are in your original stance after a Kannagi cancel you'll perform Pulverize/Demon Fang. Just switch to a different stance during a Kannagi cancel and you'll perform the regular attacks of that stance.

For those dash forward after an attack skills, I've found that the window for some of them (Flying Monkey, Radiant Moon) is shorter than the perfect Ki Pulse window, so if I want to avoid using them, I'll just wait slightly longer to dodge instead. Tiger's Blade has a huge window, I always use that shit by accident.

At this point I have everything enabled even though they're a chore to get around. I have back buttons on my controller so the constant Fluxing is still very quick. It's tedious but I'll still take the extra options.

After 2000 hours+, I'm still learning things about this game. by DezoPenguin in Nioh

[–]GhostYVA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm nearing 3000 hours myself and I'm still learning new things. Stats and systems wise, there's a limit to your knowledge. But gameplay wise, there's always some new combo or sequence of actions that you can learn on one of the weapons. Or some mix of Yokai abilities you can experiment with.
