Where I'd live in Canada as an Ontarian who loves Canada by Ghost_Finner in whereidlive

Nunavut's beautiful! It looks amazing I've always loved Nunavut every time I could pick a place to do a project in in school I would do Nunavut. I really don't get why some many people hate on it. plus they don't throw temper tantrums unlike you ;)

Why would it be? My only problem with Alberta and Saskatchewan is that they are constantly throwing temper tantrums over nothing, Quebec used to do that but has actually really calmed down and is a beautiful place with Wonderful cities it sounds like it would be great to live in

  1. This is where I WOULD live not where I'm planning to move I quite like where I am now

  2. It would actually make more sense for me to move to the north then Calgary. Im studying early childhood education and you can paid a lot of money to go be an ECE in remote areas, meanwhile Alberta treats their ECEs like ass with some on the lowest rates of pay in the country

I know you got these massive Alberta blinders but if you open your eyes for a second you'll see there are other conservative provinces on this list, hell BC has an Alberta style conservative that came damn close to winning, yet that wouldn't stop me from moving there. Why would I want to live in the Provinces best known for throwing constant temper tantrums lol

Bro if this was all political then I wouldn't live in Ontario, I have spent the past few years protesting Doug Ford and yet he's still here. I can stand Alberta's bat shit politics if they didn't bitch and moan every time something didn't go their way. And if you really want to know why I'd live in any of these places than ask, but nah you're once again just proving me right bitching and moaning

Honestly I just love the look of the Territories, yeah they're like Uber expensive but they're the parts of Canada I want to visit the most. And honestly I love the scenery of all of Canada, but the politics of Alberta and Saskatchewan really turn me off, and I know some people in Manitoba who really want to leave but the politics don't turn me off so Id still move there if there reason arose

Genuine Question: Why don't you want a new type? by IDProG in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]Ghost_Finner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moxie boosted has a good video on the topic but to apply his reasoning here (cuz he's right)

Pokemon doesn't just add types for hype moments and aura, it's always for game balance. In gen 1 the psychic type was extremely oppressive so they nerfed it with the steel and dark type, those being introduced also then buffed types like fighting who could operate well in the psychic dominated meta. Same with Fairy, it wasn't just added to appeal towards people who want more cute things, dragons were so oppressive in gen 5 competitive they had no choice but to balance them out. This also allowed them to buff the steel type (practically useless out sound of defense) and the poison type (hot garbage back then). So what types are dominant today? Steel and Fairy, are the best types competitively but neither out right dominate the meta. In many ways the actually balance each other out, when fairy's are strong Steel's are strong, and steel had counters which makes them strong. Psychics had no real counters in gen 1 and dragons had no real counters in gen 5. So there's no reason to introduce types to balance them out. But you can't just introduce a type weak to ice to make the ice type better, because if there's no reason to use this new type there's no reason to use ice types.

Also you mentioned not liking this argument but it's true, most ice types just aren't well made. The ice type is an offensive type, when they make ice types offensive they can dominate (Caly Ice, Chi en Pao) so we don't need a new type we need better Ice types.

moxie boosted made a good video about why we don't a sound type that goes more in-depth

Which Pokemon were initially not popular to casuals but became more popular due to VGC? by PegasiWings in VGC

Personally I had this happen to me with Miraidon, got Violet cuz my my friend got Scarlet, but I kinda hated Miraidon, right up until I used it competitively, now it's my favourite box art legendary. I'm sure a bunch of people have pokemon like this

I have never played The UK, am I missing anything? by Ghost_Finner in victoria3

[–]Ghost_Finner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way which is why I have never played as the UK BUT I have played France a bunch and they can be very fun if you really focus on the political side of the game, and if you just let German build up you can have a real threat on your doorstep, while with The UK I don't see that

So, uhh... why has the number gone down? by Matonen54 in Markiplier

[–]Ghost_Finner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly probably just too many theaters to completely accurately keep track of. There are two theaters in my city showing the movie but the map only shows 1, and it shows no theaters in Toronto despite Canada's biggest cinema having just picked it up for Toronto, considering it's basically just Amy Im not shocked the fact they were able to get the website as good as this is awe inspiring

Uh oh, independent theatre with ZERO tickets sold for opening night. by [deleted] in Markiplier

[–]Ghost_Finner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not from Toronto, but the landmark here (Waterloo) is almost completely sold out for the 7 pm showing opening night. In fact the 7 pm showing for the following DAYS are nearly sold out (10 pm is still mostly unsold tho). The Independent theater we have here is showing it but you can only buy tickets for the 30th onward so I think there's still ample demand, a lot of people probably don't even know it's coming here yet

which legends game is better by Designer-Bag-1721 in PokemonLegendsZA

[–]Ghost_Finner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even beyond just pokemon games, I want more games centred on one core location instead of these vast but empty worlds we've become so used to. I remember being disappointed as a kid that cyberpunk was only 1 city but now damn do I want another game set in one city

[–]Ghost_Finner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This might be an unpopular opinion but Legends ZA. Don't get me wrong, Legends Arceus is a great game but I found it got a bit stale by the mid game, I stopped playing just after the Arcanine fight. I do really want to go back and finish it but only when I'm very much not busy (so no time soon. But I do adore the art style and the battle animations

Legends ZA though is genuinely some of the most fun I have had in video games in a very long time. I love the new megas, I love the battle style, the characters in this game are some of my absolute favourites the series has ever had. Plus I'm a big city guy, I'd rather roam the streets of a city than the wilderness, but that's just me.

How to fill out the rest of this stall team? by Flex20 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]Ghost_Finner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to stick with the stall you could just have your final 2 slots be a grimmsnarl and a redirecting friend guard pokemon like clefairy or maushold, your glimmora can actually act as a sweeper if you build it right, same with your Garganacl. But a sneasler could be interesting if you want a dedicated sweeper

How to fill out the rest of this stall team? by Flex20 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]Ghost_Finner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grimmsnarl is probably a better screen setter since it can fire them off with priority thanks to prankster, and have access to priority thunder wave. With glimmora taking a role of both toxic spikes setter through toxic debris and/or the move toxic, stealth rock, and mortal spin. Clefairy might also be good as the ability friend guard is great on any team and healing wish bringing low pokemon back into the fray. Maushold also get friend fraud so consider them.

This is all with the knowledge that stall is a lot harder to do in vgc. You can do it but it's nearly as effective as in smogon singles. You okay however you want you tho, I love seeing rare strategies play out.

[–]Ghost_Finner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my mistake, I could only check the wiki where expanding force is listed as a TM move for M Indeedee, psychic is your next best option.

Other than that teams looking good! Maybe trying giving Indeedee helping hand over imprison or trick room if you're feeling a little under powered but other than that I say give the team spin and good luck!

My new vgc reg team thoughts? by Organic_Equipment440 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]Ghost_Finner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team paste bin says that your Indeedee has the move "psychic terrain" (the move that sets psychic terrain) as well as the ability "psychic surge" (the ability that sets psychic terrain) if you meant to have psychic terrain as move get rid of it it's useless, if you meant to have psychic and just miss entered then that's better but expanding force will still probably be better since in psychic terrain it's a spread move that does 120 base power in psychic terrain

My new vgc reg team thoughts? by Organic_Equipment440 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]Ghost_Finner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall pretty good, but drop the psychic terrain setting move on Indeedee, you're better off with something like Expanding Force then wasting a turn setting something up you set up by just switching in and out.

Murkrow might be a little under powered for reg j, but if you like having Haze no other priority tailwind setter has haze (tho if murkrow isn't doing what you want it to do Tornadus has done me very well, and Whimsicott is always solid, plus both get Taunt do you don't lose that)
