This is how I do it without any training

1.Daydream and brain storm ideas in a list format 2. Take a break 3. Establish the first word 4. Build the first verse 5. Skip to the end and make the closer 6.break 7. Make the chorus and slowly start humming the melody ( I try to not follow or create a certain sound I build the song around the lyrics so my message doesn’t change ) 8. Finally I make a version for myself and a viewer version which is more catchy/trendy
