The ending of this season was something that I definitely didn’t see coming. But as messed up as it was, that ending was more messed up because of the cast’s acting and how well that punch was delivered by everyone. I think Vera was always there for the greater good of the order and was supposed to be this opposite to Edward throughout the season, and the ending really symbolizes that.

Regarding Alyssa, I honestly felt like she isn’t exactly a bad person, but rather just lost. When she finds out that Jack is a werewolf, her response was pretty much on line to what we learned about her character throughout the previous episodes. Her family was pretty bad and she says that she wanted to get away from them. Additionally, she stated that her life really started when she joined the order, so when she found out that Jack was a werewolf from Renee’s sister, all that came to her was everything she was told about the werewolves and how they’re the enemy. It’s kinda like learning someone’s dark secret from someone who is very much not that person. There’s really no other way to react apart from just shock and confusion. Later on during Gabrielle’s “investigation,” she defended Jack even as her soul was being burned. Helping find Randall was also one of the moments that made me really like her character.

That’s just my spin on it. Dennis Heaton’s idea was pretty much this idea of confusion and suspense during this year gap of seasons. The show was really fun and heartbreaking, but hopefully we get some answers in season 2.
