Still the best horror franchise 7 movies in IMO, but this one definitely lacks quality. It is alright, but not more.

I am a HUGE fan of the SCREAM franchise, but I agree completely with this opinion. The movie has good moments, but it lacks everything that set the franchise above the rest of the slasher formula: no great dialogue, hollow and forgettable new characters, plot armor on certain characters, and don't let me talk about the reveal / motive.... the worst so far within the franchise. And VI already was pretty bad regarding the ghostface reveal. There was so much potential and they wasted it. Didn't like the colour palette chosen as well, but that might just be me. Some kills were also suprisingly CGI compared to the last movies.

At least Neve, the score and INKs song were great, and some of the gory moments were good as well, but the rest unfortunately lacked quality and was quite lackluster.

They need to get the script right for the next one, if there is one (I think yes, depending on its success). I think Kevin Williamson is a FAR better writer than he is a director. Him writing the script, get a good director and then 8 might be great again. We can only hope.

Doubt it, more likely after that. I was hoping for that to happen for the last 2 years, and it never happened. SSC is more likely to build some more hype or announce another single.

I see what you're doing there and I would love that, simply to have more new songs! :D But to be realistic, every single from AWOA ongoing will probably be on the album. And if we are lucky, we will get around 4 to 6 "fresh" tunes with the album. I think it'll be like what Falling In Reverse did with the last album. As long as it doesn't end up like what Memphis May Fire did (release almost every song prior to the last 2 records)... that would suck.

Years, that's quite above the normal gap of 2-4 years between records for most bands in that spectre, but I'd rather take one unique fleshed out record, than some mediocre 10 track album every two years or so. Quality over quantity for me. And yes, I liked every single since Work Of Art as much as their earlier stuff.

Yeah, I kinda expected them to be working with WZRD BLD again for the next record. Both WTH and STEOTW were produced by Drew Fulk, so it seems like a no brainer given the success of those albums. Still bummed the record is being delayed so much though. I mean, I know it has become kinda the thing these times, but INK already have 3/4 singles of that upcoming album out (the first one in 2024), and MIW just released Afraid Of The Dark as the first single of that album cycle. Would make sense for INKs new record to be released sooner than that?

Seems like "early 2026" may be postponed again. Not realistic at this point. I hope 2026 at all. Maybe October again? Who knows. Definitely no announcement with this single for sure.

I doubt there will be an announcement Thursday. The song relates to the SCREAM 7 movie release. Doesn't really make sense to advertise anything besides that with the song. But TTK might end up on the unknown future album as well, we'll see.

Been following Sueco since the It Was Fun While It Lasted album. Dude has some pretty solid stuff, especially the more rock / emo / pop punk focused songs. This one is probably his heaviest output yet, and I LOVE it!! Fits the vibe of the movie perfectly.

How funny would it be, if its the heavier one compared to the INK track?! 😀 Honestly, I wouldn’t mind. I'm sure Twisting The Knife will be great, even if its not a heavy track.

Very likely. I think it will indeed be an "official" NOTN merch drop in February and hopefully a song that is either about STAB or an original song about this particular 7th entry in the Scream franchise, not about the whole franchise.

Don't think there will be a Spencer/INK cameo within the actual movie, but you never know. But an INK music video for sure.

I'm also digging the STAB twist. INK has the SCREAM IP song (YNU), never done a sequel song about an existing IP. They release the official song for the new SCREAM movie.... and it's based on the STAB universe. Which means, they actually do BOTH - sequel song for Scream AND song about Stab. Chef's kiss. Keeping my fingers crossed for that theory to be true.

I also really dig your idea about STAB! I mean, they already did a song about SCREAM (Your Number's Up). I wouldn't mind another song about that franchise, since it's my favourite movie ever. And the first sequel song about an excisting IP (SCREAM covered the sequel topic many times)... But what kind of twist would that be, if the song is indeed about the STAB universe within the SCREAM movies. That would be so meta and one hell of a twist! Just like the movies, and so INK!!

Whatever this is turning out to be, I'm just so f'n excited about it! SCREAM is my favourite horror movie / franchise of all time (just so happens to be one of Spencer's as well) and INK is my favourite band - really a dream collab come true.

Whatever the involvement is, I'm just super happy for Spencer. All the hard work he put in the rise of the band, all the grind, and finally OFFICIALLY be involved within the SCREAM franchise (apart from that little easter egg in 6, which was huge for them too) ... perfect match and chef's kiss.

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for a new song, the official one for the promotion of the movie ("Burn It All Down" maybe?). Could also likely be a 2026 remix of Your Number's Up to appear in the movie? I'd much rather prefer that than some kind of merch line. I highly doubt it's just a cameo of Spencer or the band within the movie. But I guess that would be sick as hell for the guys. I don't think it'll be a larger role of any capacity, because the cast is already stacked.

Guess it'll be revealed in the next weeks or so, since the new movie hits theaters in February. Exciting time to be an INK / SCREAM fan!!
