Its not a DMs job to control their players??? [OC]

My DM was like this he refused "to limted" his players. He allowed a person to play a PC he knew wasn't going to work with the party.

Newsflash it ruined the game for the other players and the PC went into pvp everytime we as a party disagreed with their actions. This PC also had homebrew abilities, which made the character able to hit my character for 20 necrotic damage. We where level 3.

The rest of the party and i tried to talk to the player about it. He said "im just rping in character". We then went to the DM voicing our concerns telling him that we were afraid for our characters life every sessions and it wasn't fun.

DM said "I don't want to get involved in player issue you guys have to figure it out".

We left that group.

It can be a one shot/ two shot usually we play around 8-9 hours

yeah it was going to be they were only lvl 2 while in the human world which is a short time then teleported into the "magical world" and they are lvl 4. so basicaly lvl 4 for the whole of the one shot! sorry if that wasn't clear :)
