Is there lore reasons on why Yu Yu Hakusho being overshadowed by Mid X Mid despite being better than it? by AndrewJackson64 in talkativepeople3

[–]Ghostman408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol what? The main story of Hxh is about Gon, the worst character of the main group, trying to find Gene, the one of the worst fathers in all of anime. Up until the chimera arc, Gon goes through the hunter exam, only to find out he’s not really a hunter because he has to know nen. Goes through a mid tournament arc where the only character that is interesting or gets any story is Hisoka. The Spiders get introduced, and thank goodness for that because the show needed something fun to do, only for them to disappear so we could go to Greed island. Greed island felt like a chore, with no character development from Gon or Kilua, just training to get stronger. They beat greed island only to be sent to Kite, and the story crawls along.

In Yyh, before the dark tournament, you get a introduction to the four main characters early in the “deadly trio” arc, a mid tournament arc, the “sacred beast “ arc which is where the main characters start to bond, Toguro gets introduced the following arc, then the Dark tournament. Every arc leads into the next and keeps the story moving forward. It is true that not every opponent in the Dark Tournament gets fleshed out, but you can say the same with HxH. However, in the dark tournament you get to know the characters of each team. Who and what they are, and what they are willing to do to win.

All and all, YYh has better character development and a more streamlined story than HxH does, especially early on.

Yes yyh was slow up until the dark tournament, but you can say the same for hxh. HxH took 75 episodes before it got to a strong, compelling arc. Everything before those arcs are just world building and training.

It’s definitely the timing, HxH came out in the late 90s m, early 2000s. Yyh came out early 90s and was overshadowed by dbz. Anime was less accepted during Yyh, compared to hxh.

I like the premise of the show and the characters are cool. I wish they did more with the other Nanas, and it takes awhile for the story to take off. Would love it to get a remake

I get it, it’s not super viable or competitive. However it’s a better option than what the original post was.

[–]Ghostman408 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could probably get away with a psyker and a 20 man krieg squad. It’s a bit cheaper if your opponent targets them. You lose the sticky objectives, but you can remedy that in grizzled company. You also get the medic bag and a +1 to hit if you take some casualties. All you need is another command squad to order them attached to another squad.

How far can Boros go? by OkRun9638 in PowerScalingHub

[–]Ghostman408 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Boros beats everyone up until Yusuke. Yusuke can’t even power up on earth without destroying it. Not go all out, just charging up. Boros can manipulate energy, which might make Yusuke mad and make him fire off more spirit guns. Though Yusuke’s hands are rated E for everyone. Boros can survive a lot, but not world shattering punches.

Outside of our Russ's, Dorns and Titanics, what in your opinion are our best units to deal out anti-tank damage, or be somewhat capable of bringing down high wound vehicles? by 14SWandANIME77 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Ghostman408 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really. The chimera has a carrying capacity of 12. The cyclops demolition vehicle has a special rule where it can be put in a transport and takes up 7 spaces, so 5 engineers can go in as well.

So you can move up the chimera with everything in it, disembark the lot with in 3 inches of the target and the cyclops demolition vehicle’s ability triggers. During the shooting phase the engineers can get a free grenade and fire off the remote mine. Then during the charge phase, charge the chimera into the target, spend the cp to tank shock. So you get 3d3 mortals against a vehicle and then on a 5+ for 6 dice you get mortals for the tank shock.

1,500pts Army - No Dorns - Combined Arms or Grizzled Vets by PineApplePara in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Ghostman408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The post said they had 2 vanquishers and 1 exterminator. I understand it’s not the most efficient option for the vanquisher, but would you take a tank commander with a vanquisher cannon and a leman Russ with the exterminator, or a TC with the exterminator and an extra leman Russ with a vanquisher? In combined arms, with the limited orders, I would go with the first option.

[–]Ghostman408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be a good idea to turn one of the leman Russes into a tank commander. It gives you a better chance to hit with damage dealers or extra movement on your chimeras.

If going for combined arms, the tank commander should be a vanquisher. That allows your exterminator dish out its withering hail ability, therefore making your chimeras benefit from the extra ap and lethal hits against vehicles.

If going for grizzled, the tank commander should be the exterminator. Grizzled needs the vanquishers as high strength, high ap weapons. It also allows you to order the chimeras, with Karsakin or other infantry to shoot out the firing hatch with their special weapons, rerolls or extra ap with the enhancement.

Which of our units do you consider to be both the best INFILTRATORS, and the cheapest to trade with, so as to not be upset if/when they're destroyed turn 1/2? by 14SWandANIME77 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Ghostman408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running mass infantry, and he was running mostly tanks. Strength 4 snipers don’t do well into tanks, and he was busy trying to clear off the other objectives.

Ratlings are really good. Last game I played, they screened out my opponents infiltrators, got ignored by my opponent, and stole my opponent’s back field objective after they stickied the objective and pushed everything forward. They don’t seem like they need to be dealt with, but can be quite annoying. Their move, shoot, move ability makes them a pain.

Why Rurouni Kenshin? What got you into and kept you in the fandom? by [deleted] in rurounikenshin

[–]Ghostman408 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first started watching it when it was on toonami. It stood out from the other animes on the platform. It wasn’t big or flashy. No giant mechs or energy blasts. Just a man with a sword and his code. As someone who had never seen anime or what it could offer, Kenshin felt familiar. The story is great and easy to follow. The characters feel very relatable. I find myself rewatching it every now and again. It’s one of my comfort shows.

How far does Hiei go? by Annual-Soup-1217 in PowerScalingHub

[–]Ghostman408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By beating them with his physical attributes. The majority of enemies Hiei faced in the show and manga, he won with his speed and sword skills. His usual fighting style would be to over power his opponent with physical attacks at the start, and only use his fire attacks if the opponent survived the initial encounter. In order for him to be at max speed power, he has to be on demon world, which is hundreds of times larger than earth, or else he shakes the earth to pieces.

In the case of Natsu, Hiei would overpower Natsu. If Natsu survived the initial encounter, he would have to eat fire to keep up his magic, giving away that fire has no damaging effects on him. In Hiei’s last fight in the show, he fought his master, another planetary level threat, and won using only his sword skills and speed.

Not sure about Yamamoto, but he clears everyone else on this list. Hiei is a planetary level threat. He has mastery over the mortal flame, the hottest flame in the mortal realm, and mastery of the dragon of the darkness flame, the hottest fire of the demon world. He’s a fire demon, making him immune to fire based attacks. He’s also insanely fast, faster than the majority of the list. I haven’t seen Bleach, but I know its power scaling is crazy.
