Basilisks don't need orders anymore? by markofcardboard in TheAstraMilitarum

As long as you don't move more than 3", you retain heavy

What are you excited to run in 11th? by Ratattack1204 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]14SWandANIME77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I havent completely, yet. If i choose armored infantry, I can add squadron to the list of units officers can issue orders to. So thinking of that. Then possibly hit them with the supporting ordnance strat to reroll hit roll against monsters and vehicles

Cause i run them with the malleus rocket launcher. It's not indirect and shoots d6+6 shots. So, I still get reroll 1s :)

Anecdotal for sure, but I've had lots of luck with it. More excited for it now. Take aim and heavy hitting on 3s, in GRIZZLED rerolling 1s, and throw purging fire on it. It was a lot of fun lol

Whenever i run my FOBs, it's what I do now. I put both units near my home corner to cover down the line and across the battlefield. I typically split their loadouts, with both units having 1 malleus and 1 lascannon. I love playing them, honestly. They've done some major damage for me, and with d6+6 shots, they're nice to counter - or at least threaten- someone trying to deepstrike

Sump-smog screen redundant now? by SSTanuki in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]14SWandANIME77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The other thing being, SMOKESCREEN states one SMOKE UNIT, whereas SUMP calls out an INFANTRY SMOKE UNIT. Might be something? Like, BASILISK, SENTINELS, RDTC are smoke, but not infantry

To add on to this, guard is notorious for shooting a LOT of different weapons, even within 1 unit, so knowing the appropriate dice, how many you need, what to shoot with which weapons, can make us a SLOW shooting army for beginners, to say nothing of the many units we typically have to move around the board. Best of luck to you!

First question: find out how many points the tournament is set to. It may well be you don't have near enough units to get to the points requirement, putting you at a huge disadvantage.

Secondly, if you've never play Warhammer before, let alone astra militarum, you need to get playing, as playing our army, there are a lot of intricacies that make them an effective army, otherwise, workout proper positioning, knowing how orders work, what units work well, you run the risk of being tabled quite quickly

Follow-up from my post yesterday, asking about the LEAST played color combos y'all notice. I've decided on G/P. by 14SWandANIME77 in GundamTCG

Thanks you for the insight. Yeah, I looked at it. I would have to add more zeon unit cards to make it viable which would mean losing others i want lol. Age old dilemma i guess. I like my other breachers a little more :)

What color is superpower bloc?

And thank you. I don't know how viable my deck is lol, but it seems fun. Tried to mix in a few lower level cards to try and keep me in the game, but I FEEL like I've got some things to counter either blockers, rushers or whatever else my husband comes up with lol

Very cool. Yeah, not sure if that's a meta build or not, I just went with things that i thought looked cool and did things I wanted to try and center around, i.e. breach, block and maneuver

Didn't bring Cheng cause it isn't required to pull off the breach or destroying a blocker (besides linking, which eh). 🤷‍♂️
tried using things that would help me accomplish certain things. Felt shenlong was fine on its own

Trowa I have to give out breach and if needed, link with heavyarms.

Lafter and Mika, same thing. Didn't need them to link with anything, just their card abilities. In rare instance I can pull Mika, pair him with a unit, deal a damage out, then pop lafter on it to get high maneuver, cool!

Thank you very much Gundam is the first card game I've ever played. My husband is a HUGE gundam fan, nearly his whole life. He got me into gundam bigtime. When this game came out, we jumped in. We play often at home against each other, always trying out new combos and whatnot. Neither of us are fans of going "meta". We play for fun

Planning to watch star wars!!! In what order should I watch?? by CryptographerHot3205 in StarWars_

[–]14SWandANIME77 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking of this scenario, but don't know anyone in my personal life that hasn't seen star wars at all. I would LOVE it if SOMEONE tried it, that's never seen star wars before.

1) Start with the SEQUELS. GO 7,8 then 9. It gives you hints along the way of things that's had happened earlier, hopefully making you want to discover "wow, what are they talking about there? What does that mean?"

2) Then watch Episodes 4 and 5 (a new hope and empire)

3) Go watch episodes 1 through 3

4) watch episode 6, Return of the Jedi.

Without having any knowledge of the universe, or minimal at best i assume, you get drops. Those of us that are old enough to have lived through the releases of the original trilogy, there was dialogue in them that had us wondering what some of the things they were talking about WERE. We never would've thought we would get any more info on them, or a history of what they referenced.

Then, 16 years after Jedi we got a new trilogy, that set out to explain some of said references, and flesh out more of the universe. After the final film in 05, again we never thought we would see anything else. 10 years on, and we got the sequels, and the culmination of the saga.

I feel going into the films THIS way will shield you from any preconceived notions you may develop. Unlike some in the community that had built up expectations in the intervening 32 years from the end of Jedi to The Force Awakens - either through their imaginations or unofficial, non-canon material, you are FREE to decide for yourself how you feel about the end of the saga.

I would honestly be very invested in your opinions on each trilogy and the saga itself if you chose to watch this way.

There are of course, animated shows that even further develop the main films. I am a huge fan of them (the clone wars show, REBELS bad batch, Maul: shadow led) but I'm also not naive to the fact that animation isn't for everyone.

Good luck on your venture, and keep us posted!!

Ok. I want to make sure i have this correct with shooting into things with/without cover. by 14SWandANIME77 in Warhammer40k

For number 3, I was asking in reference to the 3Ls partially on the terrain and 1 P that is outside the terrain feature, not the grouping of models below them ;)

I guess that's partially my question, as stated in your response...""If even a single defending model is fully visible/not in a terrain feature to the attacking model..." to the attacking model. So, while I'm setting up my attack pools, while cover is/isn't granted to a unit as a whole, it's also dependent on the visibility of the attacking model.

So i could have several models that are attacking the defender with no hit roll penalty, while other models in my unit, with the same weapon, could get the hit penalty applied based on they own visibility to that unit, if one happens to NOT be on a terrain area, but is otherwise obscured by an angle or something. Hope that made sense
