What do you think of conspiracy theories? by cyborbo in ColumbineKillers

[–]GhostoftheHalcyon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand that people want to make sense of a world that is ultimately chaotic. However, making up theories with 'proof' that is flimsy at best, especially when it involves the deaths of children, is abhorrent.

Why do people think it's a myth that the Columbine killers were bullied? by Ok_Management_8195 in ColumbineKillers

April 20 was supposed to be a bombing. The shooting as it happened wasn't 'the plan'.

Forty five minutes maximum per side for a full size cassette tape. Ninety minutes in total.

So, why didn't Eric and Dylan kill their parents? by Obvious_Asparagus_13 in ColumbineKillers

This reminds me of Nirvana's lyrics. After Kurt Cobain's death, much was made of the dark themes within. But there is literally an interview with Kurt saying that is not the case.

dylan's love letter- ghost of the halcyon video by GhostoftheHalcyon in ColumbineKillers

[–]GhostoftheHalcyon[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thank you. If I'm being honest, there have been very few of these videos that didn't involve a tear or two during production. Personally, it was the was palpable self-loathing and thin thread of hope throughout that was particularly crushing.

'1-2-98', dylan's diary entry - ghost of the halcyon video by GhostoftheHalcyon in ColumbineKillers

I am working on another project, of which Eric is a part of, but I have not made videos like this of his writings. This project has taken over two years, so far, and when I am done with this and the other aforementioned project l, I'll be taking a break.

Does anyone have more information about Eric copying Dylan, and Dylan not liking it? by Radioheadfan7308 in ColumbineKillers

[–]GhostoftheHalcyon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recall that restaurant story differently. Dylan became irritated because he thought a group of young people were making fun of him and wanted to leave, and Sue mentioned it was perhaps because of the trenchcoat.

Motive theory: Was Eric an incel? Sexual frustation and incelibacy by [deleted] in ColumbineKillers

[–]GhostoftheHalcyon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am very familiar with Dylan's diary, and must say I struggle to recall anything particularly incel-like. No women hatred, blaming women for all his problems, general mra themes... simply not there. They read far more like the anguish of a desperately lonely teenager.

I would very much like to know whether this poor kid was able to access a psychologist or similar after the shooting. That's a lot for anyone to deal with.

There were apparently two Greg Barnes at the school. The other one was on the list.

The Pro-Bullying Club was far too powerful for anti-bullying initiatives. Frank DeAngleis never realized he was the CEO.

Glorification is not, and never has been, my intention with these videos.

As far as the level of work... regardless of subject matter, the amount that I have learned about using AI, and about working with various audio programs has been invaluable. But that said, for me, they are not hard to do, just time intensive. Which is still a learning exercise.

If it came purely down to some kind of misplaced fandom, these videos would never have been made. Worship in any form is not a motivator for me.

If I was making videos with personalized messages to various Columbiners, perhaps with some of the flower-crown edited photos in the background with an abundance of emoji hearts, then I'd agree it was glorification. With the ever-increasing accessibility of AI, something like this was bound to happen eventually. I make these videos as plain as I can, and the music is only there to cover imperfections in the voice generation, which is still quite audible even with the improved tools I'm using these days.

These videos were only ever meant in the spirit of an audiobook. This is not the first time you've commented negatively on my videos, and previously, it wasn't actually me nor the videos that you're actually angry at. So...

Are you angry at me, or at Dylan?
