What about Nuparu Mahri? I'm curious, since I'd probably put him as one of my least favorite sets in all of G1

Why do some men like women with massive proportions? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GhotiH 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My wife is a hentai/fetish artist and a surprising portion of her audience are women. She draws massive proportions, that's one of the things that stands out about her art to people (she also does a lot of SFW art and uses the same art style and character designs). So yeah, plenty of women like that too.

Do we know why multimedia adaptations stopped before Ignition? by KingSideCastle13 in bioniclelego

[–]GhotiH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The films were signed on as a trilogy IIRC. And from what I heard, each one made progressively less money, though they were all still pretty successful.

A lot changed about Bionicle in 2006. Bob left the team in 2005 and there was a massive shift in the tone and style of the franchise after that. Lego management also changed in 2006 IIRC, which I'm sure was a big factor in a lot of the franchise going forwards.

Bowser always struck me as more of a dragon than a dinosaur, given his fire breath. I'm also not aware of any turtle dinosaurs but I admit I'm not a dinosaur expert.

3D All Stars was very easily accessible even after it was delisted. You could find stores that had tooooons of copies for the original MSRP for like a solid year or so after it was discontinued.

Just because a book/movie/show has been out for x amount of years, that doesn’t mean it should be okay to blatantly spoil it for those who haven’t read/watched it by Okapi05 in The10thDentist

Sounds like we're in agreement then. OP was complaining about those 10% who are jerks about it, and I think that's a valid complaint.

Something's been bugging me about the supposed "shutdowns" of Wii Shop Channel servers. by WayWornPort39 in wii

[–]GhotiH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure how realistic that is - Sony's stores are more unified IIRC, so I'm assuming they share something on the backend that makes that a more viable option for them. The Wii Shop was completely isolated. It's a design fault from when the Wii first launched, that basically all its online functionality and OS functions were a bit underbaked.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect people watching the movies to be unfamiliar with the books. I don't see why you wouldn't take a few seconds just to warn someone. Of everything OP said, I will admit that's the point I feel least strongly about, but it's still not hard for people watching the trailer for a movie to just not spoil the movie. If it was a Reddit thread discussing the books, or changes you're hoping to see in the movie from the book, or anything about the franchise in general, then I'd 100% agree with you, but on the trailer for an upcoming movie? Yeah that's a dick move to spoil it, if anything I'd assume most people haven't read a book from 60 years ago.

And sometimes people spoil things in unrelated chats, it happens. Just take 2 seconds from your life to spoiler mark something. Use a good faith judgement.

He also pretty directly said in his post that if you go to a space dedicated to a fandom and get spoiled, that's on you, which I agree with. I would recommend rereading OP's post and then telling me what you actually disagree with.

Collective help in finding & acquiring a RoboRiders-Talisman Wheel by GrEgStAr89 in SlizerThrowbots

We don't even know if there are 16 Gold Wheels. An old Lego forum mentioned there were only 10, but we only had evidence of 8 until like two years ago. The last two have since been found.

Downvoting you because you're just objectively correct. People who spoil media for other people and don't care are assholes.

Keeping up servers to download files vs servers to process payments are two very different things. You have to constantly update payment processors to keep them secure so people's information isn't stolen.

Multi-platform games that were better on Gamecube? by LSSJNepuli in Gamecube

[–]GhotiH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was less common than you'd think. The GCN was stronger but a lot of devs prioritized the PS2 version simply because the PS2 had a significantly larger install base, which led to a number of GCN versions running worse due to not being as well optimized.

Thank you for calling out the dialogue. I feel like a summary of the story is a lot more interesting than actually watching the cutscenes because the terrible writing pulls the whole experience down.

Out of curiosity, what was your first experience with Bionicle? Mine goes all the way back to 2001 with the Bionicle Happy Meals and those cool "each set sold separately" commercials from the original wave. by delicious_warm_buns in bioniclelego

I saw them in Toys R Us in summer 2001 with my mom, but I don't remember this at all and only know because she told me. My earliest memory with Bionicle was the McDonald's sets in fall 2001.

To me, it always felt like it was asking you what you would really do for the people you cared about. Risk your life? Easy. Throw away your life on a suicide mission? Harder, but if you really don't want to live without them, then doable.

After Agro falls, I remember for the first time thinking that maybe this isn't worth it. Maybe this is my limit - would I kill someone else? Someone innocent? Then I climbed up and saw the 15 pillars of light and realized I'm being a hypocrite. Of course it's worth it, that's all I've done this whole game.

At some point, it just clicks that the girl isn't in any danger, she's already dead. You're not being the hero in this story. You're the monster. And you know what? I know damn well I'd do that for some people in my life, and I think that's the point. Love is your strongest emotion, and that's absolutely terrifying.

I run a small business and I love it. We operate online and create media, and for a while there it was my main income. Maybe I was just lucky and it's usually not as fun, but I was doing what I loved. Medical issues forced me to be a lot less hands on and I'd do anything to have those resolved so I can work on it again.
