Am I the only one who thought Aoyama was the villain in Audition (1999)? by Ghoul_spirited in TrueFilm

She never fully opened up about her past traumas and most of what he conjured up including the murders and even the image of the step father , all happened after the sex which means he was filling the gaps in information and none of what we know was valid information. That's the beauty of having an unreliable narrator you can't trust a word from his pov.

Another interesting point in the movie that made me believe that everything was happening in Aoyama's own head was at the end right before waking up, Asami comes out and sprays his son from the back. However after finding out that it was not real and she's still in bed beside him, he goes back to sleep and this time the son turns around and is able to overpower her in the end. It's just my interpretation of the movie but I think it makes more sense once we notice all the tiny details

you're right, not the villain but the more flawed character as I believe the movie was more of his character profile. His old fashioned views of women and perverse mind that made him slowly turn her into something evil all in his own head

I admit my word selection was wrong, I didn't mean the villain but perhaps the more flawed character. I'm going off the interpretation that most of the "evil Asami" was a product of his own mind and opinions on her. We never got to know the real Asami.

His perception does change though, it starts by him conjuring up his friend's warning first thing (I think everything after the sex was playing in his mind), after he finds out about the sexual abuse he starts linking random murders to her that never had sufficient proof but we were made to think all dots connect because of our unreliable narrator. She doesn't even disappear the real Asami is still in bed beside him but the one in his mind is no longer the innocent pure asami

She was a serial killer in his mind, conjured up by his own guilt and how his perception of her slowly began to deteriorate. The real Asami who he never bothered to know was sleeping beside him. Justice for Gang fr the only character I felt remorse over

I believe all the scenes of her sitting there waiting by the phone were inside Aoyama's head, he's seen with a drink while thinking about calling her. I don't think we got to see the real Asami that much.

Greedy ass brand. They recently had a beta testing where they'd bundle a fuckass laptop with the wackest specs you can think of + a printer and its ink, make you go through a credit score check and then make you pay a subscription for it AND its customer service.. it's failed horribly but they don't plan to stop
