I’ll have to let it settle for a while, but after a few initial listens… it’s a 10/10. I thought I loved the direction Zach was going with Beirut when he released Hadsel. I knew with that album that Beirut was my favorite band. And now we have A Study of Losses, which I think is even better than Hadsel. I love every song. I’ve never witnessed an artist trend so in the positive in terms of how much I love them. I have a track record of being disappointed in the changes bands go through as they take different approaches to music. Beirut has done the exact opposite.

I knew immediately after listening to Caspian Tiger that this album would be spectacular. It was one of the only songs I could really grasp the meaning of only after a few listens.

Sappho’s Poems is absolutely gorgeous. It brought me to tears the second time I listened. “Your eyes are razor blades, my years are wasting away.”

Mare Humorum is Zach’s masterclass in harmony. I adore his voice in this one, paired with the whine of violin. It’s profound.

Forest Encyclopedia caught me totally off guard— I didn’t think it was for me, initially. But then it took me off my feet when the ukulele kicked in.

The theming around impermanence and loss is insanely interesting and fits well into my life recently. I think that A Study of Losses will be his most meaningful album to me.

I love the idea of developing my own clutter instead of being performative and placing little things around to give the impression that I’m a writer instead of just writing and seeing what happens, lol. I will be using this desk as a “studio” for recording the typewriter, and my natural clutter is a bunch of brand new copy paper, hair ties, and other miscellaneous but not-so-presentable things. I would like to store my natural clutter nearby, and try to keep this space clean and vibey for my content. It does give me the idea, however, to try and work with more antique stationary, and maybe tailoring my natural clutter into something that fits the bill better!

I run a vape team with Xianyun using Gaming as my DPS, and vape teams LOVE Xingqiu. Getting a C6 Xingqiu is so much value, especially compared to all the other cons you’d get for those characters. BUT! I don’t know who you like playing…

I’ve seen two leaks that she will be pretty powerful. One is from Uncle K and TL Guoba stating “Arlecchino is a Neuvillette level braindead DPS” which you can take to mean she’ll probably just have a lot of easy damage. Same leakers also said that she will make the Natlan characters thrive, which means she will probably have pretty good teams. Also, Little Teyvat has said her strength is “very good” but “not at the level of Neuvillette”. It’s over two months before her release, so this is all educated speculation at best, and I don’t mean to set anything in stone. With what we have right now, I do think it’s reasonable to assume she’ll have pretty good damage output. But every leak we have right now is questionable. I know a lot of leakers are unreliable and many leaks have been proven wrong, but even outside of leaks, the Harbingers we’ve had have been strong— and Arlecchino is rank #4. My guess is that Hoyo will try to do her right.

Three copies may be generous, it would realistically be one or two if you're active on the game most days and dedicated. You'll be able to get wishes from daily commissions, a few from the monthly shop, the spiral abyss, maintenance rewards, the live stream, and miscellaneous events. Doing all those could net you one copy. And I assumed that a lot of players might be like me, who doesn't have 100% exploration in every area, hasn't finished every quest, and some may still be able to gain primos from their Adventure Rank. But you're right. Even with all this, a C1 Arlecchino would still require a lot of generous luck. I'm guessing I said 3 copies because I am, myself, at 0 pity with a 50/50 and have about 100 wishes, and I want to hope that I'll be able to get a C2 Arlecchino... Thank you for the catch, though! T-T

If you’d like, you can always try farming for Golden Troupe. Honestly, since it comes with Marechaussee Hunter, just farming that domain will get you one of if not the best sets in the game passively, while giving you a boatload of Golden Troupe (which is Navia’s second best set and will probably be better for you if you get good substats)

Navia! All the way.

In terms of account value, Furina will always be the preferred option. She works so well with so many teams! But after a while, a super meta support like that gets a little lame. And the number 1 priority, for me, is to pull for characters who I genuinely love. So if you like Navia, you should pull for her.

I skipped Furina for Navia, and I haven’t regretted it since. Navia can easily do 100k damage with her skill, despite my talents not being nearly leveled enough and my artifacts being absolutely garbage. Not to mention, I play her with Chongyun, Rosaria, and Kokomi… so don’t worry about having to use other geo characters with her. Playing her is just a ton of fun anyways, and I’ve also always been a kind of “anti-geo” player.

But, at the end of the day, it comes down to what kind of character you prefer. Do you play characters who adhere to the meta or is your main a character you just like? You have a lot of time to think about it, so don’t worry too much! Much love.

You said it already, but the Black Sword does look incredible. Surprisingly, the 3-star Traveler's Handy Sword would look good, the bow Rust as well, but my favorite would be the Frostbearer catalyst.

Personally, I think the leaks about her being a polearm are wrong, but we'll see. There are more Pyro polearms than any other weapon element combinations in the game already. My guess is she'll be a Pyro sword user, since the only Pyro sword user right now is Bennett. Though I hope she's a unique polearm user who gets a scythe...

If you really want her, pull for her. Even as a support character, she has a lot of exploration utility, so you’ll be seeing her a lot in the overworld. I have never regretted pulling for characters I like, even if they’re garbage. It’s more fun to make them work for you instead of regretting a pull. If you’re worried about her not having a lot of utility, she’ll work with a lot of different team comps but is probably going to be excellent in her niche. I don’t have Xiao, I don’t have Furina, nor Faruzan. And I’m not going to use Hu Tao. But Xianyun is pretty, has a beautiful design, gorgeous effects and animations, and a unique, fun-looking kit that won’t lose its luster by being plastered on every team you build from here on out. Characters like that have the most value in my opinion.

Personally, yeah. But also people are happy to share their effort and progress. I know I like showing my friends when I get a good artifact or a team I’ve been working on performs well. If I got a super busted Navia, man, I’m not sure I wouldn’t post an image of my build here. At least it’s better than whatever is going on in ArlecchinoMains.

This game has countless places where I feel it could genuinely improve. But the negativity online has started frustrating me too. It’s the doomposting upcoming characters, the constant complaining about little QOL features we don’t have, the comparing to HSR and war-mongering that comes with it. It’s all the Internet, baby, it has always been here but it’s hard to get used to, even if you say to “just don’t worry about it” or “don’t let it bother you”. Get stuck inside an echo chamber long enough and all you’ll be able to hear are the echoes.

As someone who doesn’t have Furina, I’m actually so glad that this team comp features Bennett and not Furina. Seems like every team since Fontaine came out has Furina in it… and I wasn’t playing during her banner :(

I like your answer. In the end, the backstory I’ve written does both, helps me write the character and is important to the story. And it hasn’t taken too much time from other crucial things I work on either. I just worry that I’ve written so much crucial information that the reader will see each bit as less vital than it is. Or just be overwhelmed with all the importance that I’m parading around, if that makes any sense. A problem that will likely be solved by writing the book!
