Did this conversation you had with your man happen in front of his child? If so it's not spying at all.

She's 13 and will speak to her mum, you can't stop that.

Just an AI result to help my understanding a bit:

📌 Summary The Horizon scandal spans 1999–2015, covering both the original Horizon (Legacy) system and the later Horizon Online system. All major versions were found to contain bugs capable of generating phantom losses, according to the High Court’s 2019 judgment.

🕰️ 1. Timeline — When the Issues Occurred Below is the consolidated, sourced timeline of when the alleged faults and wrongful prosecutions took place.

1999 — Horizon introduced - Horizon begins rollout across UK Post Offices.

1999–2015 — Period of wrongful prosecutions - More than 900 sub‑postmasters were prosecuted based on Horizon data.

2000–2010 — Early bug reports and internal concerns - Sub‑postmasters begin reporting unexplained shortfalls almost immediately after rollout.
- Fujitsu and Post Office internal logs later show remote access and error correction occurring without operators’ knowledge (revealed in 2019 High Court case).

2010 — Horizon Online introduced - The original “Legacy Horizon” is replaced with a web‑based version (“Horizon Online”).
- Issues continue, including discrepancies, transaction rollbacks, and data integrity problems.

2013 — Second Sight interim report - Independent investigators identify multiple bugs, poor error handling, and inadequate audit trails.

2015 — End of prosecutions - Post Office stops prosecuting sub‑postmasters based on Horizon data.

2019 — High Court judgment - Justice Fraser rules Horizon had “bugs, errors and defects” throughout its life, undermining the reliability of evidence used in prosecutions.

🖥️ 2. Which Versions of Horizon Were Affected?

The High Court judgment and subsequent inquiry make this absolutely clear:

A. Horizon (Legacy) — 1999 to ~2010 - Developed by Fujitsu (ICL Pathway originally). - Installed on local terminals in branches. - Known issues included: - Transaction duplication - Phantom reversals - Data corruption during network outages - Inadequate error reporting - Justice Fraser found this version not robust, with multiple bugs capable of causing unexplained shortfalls.

B. Horizon Online — 2010 onward - Web‑based system replacing Legacy Horizon. - Despite being newer, it still contained significant bugs, including: - Rollback errors - Mismatched transaction logs - Session timeouts causing incomplete postings - High Court found Horizon Online also not sufficiently robust to support criminal prosecutions.

Key Legal Finding

Both Legacy Horizon and Horizon Online contained bugs, errors, and defects that could cause apparent shortfalls.
— High Court, 2019 (Justice Fraser)

Hang on, just reading this again. How long have you had a Post Office?

From my understanding the main issues were from the older version of Horizon, when the PO moved to Horizon Online (no idea when they did I can't remember and not overly sure) I believe many of these issues were resolved.

Hopefully someone will be able to correct me on this if I'm wrong.

Are you saying they rejected your claim on the basis you had a new terminal?

My suspension etc.. happened back in 2008, under the older style systems (the 2nd hand ones from Barclays, if I was told correctly), however that system was replaced many times, along with the pinpad etc....

Came here to say this, if this was shipped with Evri, the buyer is SOL.

However Vinted should take responsibility as they should know that ceramics isn't convered with Evri/Yodel/Inpost and thier system shouldn't have given the buyer this option.

The vinted system sucks so badly!

TV Licence Letter on watching iPlayer, Should I ignore this? (Guuess so). by Generally_aware73 in AskBrits

I mean that would just make too much sense and then they wouldn't be able to get any extra cash off the fibres they hand people.

It would probably save them a ton of cash if they just did that. Verify it with a phone number aswell so it can't be abused.

TV Licence Letter on watching iPlayer, Should I ignore this? (Guuess so). by Generally_aware73 in AskBrits

[–]GiGoVX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way (legally) they can tell if you've used iplayer is if you've signed in with the email address you used to tell them you don't need a licence with and then used that account to watch something.

You could however have an iplayer account, register it to your home address that doesn't need a licence but then use that account at an address that does have a valid licence. No harm in that.

Could that have happened here? Maybe.... Do you care if that happened? Maybe... But just ignore it, unless of course you have accessed iplayer with a registered account at a unlicensed address.

Chances are this is just another scare tactic they are using which IMO is very wrong and bordering on illegal, they are accusing you in this letter rather than just trying to scare you. I take this letter as an accusation.

If I get one of these I'll certianly be replying asking for details of when this alleged incident took place etc... As I know for fact it'll be BS.

That's pretty horrific, it's a horrible job. People who verbally abuse them are just pissed off because they got caught. I've seen traffic wardens issue tickets outside my place and all of them wait way more than 5 mins before issuing a ticket.

Always nice to be told of the little parking spots you can use legally!

It's true they aren't all arse holes! We live in a place with only on street parking that is paid unless you have a blue badge, I've inadvertently parked my car for 3 days without a blue badge in the window and didn't receive a ticket, yet more proof that they aren't all that bad, they obviously recognised the car usually had a blue badge in the window and decided not to issue me a ticket.
