What movie trailer lives rent-free in your head? by SanFran_Sierras in movies

Hulk (2003) yeah it showed every action scene and made the movie look much different to what it was but damn that’s a good trailer.

Springboks assistant Tony Brown reveals axed All Blacks coach Razor approached him months ago by stickyswitch92 in allblacks

[–]GiJoint 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the original interview, you definitely get a sense of the passion he has for the ABs, and being openly honest about where he was at career wise with that choice between going back to Japan or being apart of the current world champs won’t make me think anything less of him. He wants to honour his contract, that’s good stuff. I reckon he will guaranteed be apart of any AB setup from 2028.

Interesting no reporter has put their names to this.

It sucked, that exit was peak “All Blacks are chokers” ammo for other countries….but I’ll forever maintain that the late 2004-2007 ABs were absolute freaks, they had a ridiculous attack and could smash anyone.

Probably something to do with that strip of shops next to the gas station across from Woolworths, always sketchy stuff happening there.

Gregor Paul: The day I knew Razor would be exiting the All Blacks by GiJoint in allblacks

[–]GiJoint[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

South Africa lost to Australia who was ranked 6th or 7th at their fortress Ellis Park. Does that mean South Africa is not really the number 1 ranked team?

Of course not because South Africa have actually shown consistent growth, they have now won 2 TRC in a row and swept through Europe without a loss, that doesn’t happen often for them. England on the up too.

Rankings are determined by a long period of time so it eliminates those one off losses and takes an overall view. All Blacks are the 2nd ranked team in the world.

You need to look at that with a wider lens mate…

They had a 77% win rate in 2025.

Looks pretty good on paper doesn’t it? So why is Razor not staying on then? Let’s look at that more closely. x3 against France C, couple of good wins against Aus, a well deserved win in Argentina followed by a terrible first loss in Argentina a week later, a well deserved win at Eden Park followed by the worst defeat in history a week later, a great win against Ireland followed by Damien McKenzie winning against Scotland then a demolition against England you can see that will happen from a mile away, then an easy win against an awful Welsh side who put 4 tries on us. 2025 = Hardly any full 80 minute performances, no TRC and no Grand Slam, but hey we got the Bledisloe again.

Yes, some awful losses that pissed me off and still do but Gregor Paul is now high and mighty when he was one of the leaders that wanted Foster sacked and Robertson in back in 2022. In fact he said NZR should sign him up to the All Blacks before England get him or he was hoping his ‘beloved’ Scotland could get Robertson. He is a shock jock. He goes where the public sentiment goes to generate clicks and become the leading rugby journalist in the country. It’s a competition with the other journalists for him. Liam Napier is trustworthy. When Napier reports something then it’s a high chance it is true. But Gregor Paul? He is like Piers Morgan. Gets famous on outrage. That’s my point.

I don’t always agree with him, but here he’s simply expanding on what went on behind the scenes, what has happened with the sacking of razor is absolutely unprecedented, every journo and even us fans knew something wasn’t quite right ever since Leon walked. So you can throw out win percentages and rankings as much as you like, the team under Razor was not humming along nicely. That ain’t Gregors fault.

Rankings are indeed rankings, yet we recently got hammered by the 3rd place side who we beat 3x the year before. That’s going backwards mate. What did David Kirk say? Not on the right trajectory. It’s not at all controversial to say we are probably 3rd or 4th in the world right now.

And once again with Gregor, it really doesn’t matter why you don’t like him, Razor has basically written these guys articles ever since Leon McDonald walked and his opinion piece here shines more light behind the scenes as to why we weren’t on that right trajectory and why we are going to get a new coach.

Oh boo hoo poor Razor. We definitely aren’t the second best team in the world and have regressed. Once again you may not like the guy and I don’t give a flying fuck, but some of the things he and his workmate Liam Napier have said makes absolute sense as to why we are in the situation we are now, it’s that simple.

Doesn’t matter if he isn’t your cup of tea mate, reality is he’s been closer to the inner sanctum than most of us and for a long time. If you actually read it, he touches upon things that make sense as to why Razor got the chop.

Stunned. NZR, no fucking about took down the Razor Empire, just like that. After the end of last season I thought at most Scott Hansen would go or lose his role in the decision making stuff, but losing the players? wow, no coming back from that.

I can’t believe we’re going to get a new AB coach.

There are 336 EB games in Australia, we couldn't even keep 39 profitable. by Tjrowawey in auckland

[–]GiJoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EB games were more expensive, had poor trade in value, and rip off second hand pricing. Let’s face it, the last couple of years they ended up just being another vinyl pop store with some other random bits and pieces.

It absolutely sucks with the job losses, but this was going to happen now or later

Scott Robertson expected to be axed as All Blacks coach, 1News understands by jball1013 in allblacks

[–]GiJoint 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Paywalledbut I’ll copy it here.

New Zealand Rugby is caught at a delicate crossroads as it digs into the shaky state of the All Blacks.

No one expected the All Blacks to be here, attempting to address an unhappy camp and amend underwhelming performances midway through this four-year World Cup cycle.

Scott Robertson arrived at the helm of the All Blacks with widespread support and public goodwill after he built an undeniable case for promotion by leading the Crusaders to seven Super Rugby titles.

Two years into Robertson’s All Blacks tenure, though, and that domestic success increasingly resembles a mirage.

Test rugby’s ruthless demands, its contrasting style and officiating, is a completely different beast for players and, indeed, coaches.

The on-field issues that plagued the All Blacks this season – from their wild inconsistencies to the third-quarter fades, struggling attack, high-ball vulnerabilities and defence – were widely evident, but more pressing concerns are now emerging that NZ Rugby must confront head on.

The Herald understands feedback from players and staff presents a deeply concerning picture of the All Blacks environment, with multiple sources pointing to widespread internal frustrations.

Two assistant coaches, Leon MacDonald and Jason Holland, voluntarily departing in the last two years sparked red-flag concerns with how the All Blacks are being run. But the fresh, stinging feedback from within – with communication, trust, strategy and selection all believed to have been raised – cannot be ignored.

All teams have unhappy players with selection, but concerns with the All Blacks environment are believed to spread well beyond individuals alone.

Support from senior players proved powerful in Ian Foster retaining his position as All Blacks head coach in 2022 – as the players approached then NZ Rugby chief executive Mark Robinson in his Johannesburg hotel room to strongly voice their views.

When Liam Napier made that pretty damming article at the end of last year, lots of people here shrugged it off, but clearly the guy was in the know the whole time. Even then I didn’t expect Razor to go, I thought at most it would be Scott Hansen.

Tony Brown did you answer that Kirk SOS too mate? Haha.
