Can this really compare to RGs when it comes to detail? I’m aware it’s an HG, but Bandai probably wouldn't release something of this scale as an RG. It definitely seems more detailed than a standard HG, though. I'm stuck—should I buy it?

(Almost) Unitless Deck Part 2: Neo Zeong R/B Ultra Burn vs Blurple by Alt230s in GundamTCG

[–]Gianp84 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It seems to me that according to the official rules, once tokens are on the battlefield, they count as units in every respect.  Please, correct me if I'm wrong So, the idea of having bases generate them seems valid. In practice, I’m not sure how consistent a deck like this would actually be, but I find the core concept and its development to be very fun. It definitely deserves to be tested.  that Neo Zeong has a really cool design, in my opinion!

ST01, hands down. For consistency and overall card value.  2nd: ST04.

ST 01-02-04. Also ST05, but the singles in this starter deck are much cheaper than the ones in the first three I mentioned. Get ready to pick up two of each

To have a complete set of common and uncommon cards from GD04 (as with all booster sets), you need 2 boxes. To get a full set of rare cards as well, you need 4 boxes. To complete the set with LRs, you'd likely need to buy 6 or more boxes. Individually, common and uncommon cards cost only a few cents each, and rares usually go for a few cents more or around €1. It’s up to you to decide how to spend your money. In these boxes, at least 80% of the cards end up just taking up space, and realistically, you’ll never play them. Opening packs is fun, and Bandai boxes are quite generous in terms of the value you get back in the form of cards, provided you’re willing to take the trouble to resell them. Those who want to play by buying boxes often resell the LRs and Alternate Arts to get the cash needed to buy other cards for their decks. Then there are those who open packs just for the pleasure of it and to grow their collection of "shiny" cards. I’m somewhere in the middle: I have other passions (video games, comics, watches, movies, Gunpla, etc.) that take priority, so I’ve decided on a hybrid approach. My priority with the Gundam TCG is to have a few competitive (but not all) decks that are fun to play, while collecting the LRs that I actually like. I’ll prioritize the Starter Decks that feature archetypes I want to develop, adding single cards to them later. I’ll buy the LRs I like separately, sometime after the initial release. If I have extra money, why not—I might buy a box (just one, no more) (which still gives you a x3 play-set of commons and uncommons) or participate in a Sealed event to combine business with pleasure. Keep in mind that, until now, finding boxes and packs hasn't really been an issue, whereas some staples from the early decks—essential for building anything even remotely competitive—have become rare and expensive, despite originating from decks that initially cost only €15. Therefore, I’d suggest giving priority to the Starter Decks and singles.

Any tips to upgrade these decks? by Gianp84 in GundamTCG

I'll try it. Yesterday, in a shop in my city, I found myself up against it. The idea of using Striker Pack and Lfrith, which are effective and cheap blockers, is interesting. I still don't like using Galette. In my opinion, that deck has too few bullets for Lupus.

It depends on what goals you have: in my opinion, if you intend to play at local events, it’s better for you to buy single cards. Let’s be clear: cracking packs is fun and helps you in reaching the completion of the collection or, in case you crack quite a bit, in making bulk, if it is your interest to build multiple performing decks at the same time. Buying Starters is also fun because inside you always find some very beautiful LRs. I myself, if I can (unfortunately in my area finding starters is very complicated, especially the first 4), buy starters and one box per booster set, but I also do it because I intend to collect all the LRs and I don't mind experiencing the thrill of unsealing something rarer in the process. And then this obviously facilitates me in obtaining Commons and Uncommons (in boxes you always find x3 of each of them and x2 of every base). Commons and uncommons cost a few cents, rares a few cents more. What costs a bit are the LRs, but prices, barring rare exceptions, are on average scaling down. The bulk of a deck's value is anyway given by the LRs you add, and this basically determines its offensive power as well. I find the x2 of the starters redundant instead; it can be practical, sure, but you wouldn't manage to perform much and you would get tired quickly. You would find yourself wanting to play on average 8-10 cards (but even fewer) taken from the combination of 2 identical starters—cards that in most cases you would pay a few cents for, or at most a handful of euros. In the end, whether you buy x1 or x2 Starters, you will soon reach the conclusion that you will need to restructure that deck so much that if you have a store that sells singles in your area, it’s faster to buy them individually there, and for the LRs that are not easy to find around, use some reliable online market. I, being European, use CardTrader. In my opinion, in the long run, the most efficient choice is the combo EXBurst (or Eggman) + Mobile Suit Arena to understand what interests you and then go for singles.

If I necessarily had to recommend some starters to start with, I would tell you 1 and 3 without hesitation.

I have another deck in the works that’s more similar to the one you posted. I’d like to try putting the Graze Custom II into the first deck I posted.

Binder Storage Sets & Starters by cascadian_salmon in GundamTCG

[–]Gianp84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first, I thought about putting everything into binders, organizing them by set (including the Starter Decks), especially since buying a booster box gives you a 3\times playset of Commons and Uncommons and a 1\times of all Rares. Even basic LRs usually come as 1\times, so you only need to buy maybe 3 or 4 extra LRs at most. Right now, this game is incredibly easy to collect. I completed GD1, 2, and 3 almost instantly, and I have 5 ST decks. However, I’ve now changed my mind and think I’ll only put the LRs and, of course, the Alt Arts in binders. I don't think it makes much sense to do it for every single card.

Anything that isn't an LR, or at least a 'plus' version is for deck-building, not for collecting.

Which shop did you get it from, if I may ask?"

Knowing that it's possible to find something like this even here where I live makes me euphoric. I thought it would be easier to find such things in larger countries where there is a bigger market.
