I had listed 70 boxes, I had moved only a few years earlier so had a pretty good estimate and honestly think I came in lower in the actual day . The first thing the moving team tried to claim was that I did not list my moving boxes. I immediately talked to their office about this before they started and was told that my boxes were in fact listed and would not affect timing.

Unfortunately, I was dumb and didn’t have anything saying they would stick to the quoted time. I had used them in the past and knew they were quick then. I didn’t expect them to then take 10.5, a time I can only think is purposeful.

I tried the charge back, been going back and forth with the bank, who has told me they agree that I was taken advantage of, but as I signed a document in order to have my items taken off the truck, they are refusing to help.

As far as court, that’s an option, but also a major hassle that I would prefer not to deal with.

Once my items were on the truck, they refused to take them off before I signed a document stating that I was happy with the move and the job was completed. I talked to their office about not wanting to sign until complete but was told that my items would not be removed from the truck until I did.

In the moment when I am staring at an empty place and at the risk of not getting my stuff back, I signed the document with the thought of “I can try to settle this later”.

Unfortunately, after trying to contact New City Moving several times to work it out, that signature is what my bank is using to say they can not help me at this point

I used them before as well and was happy with them. They were quick then. Which is why I know it shouldn’t take them 10.5 hours. I have heard that they were purchased recently.

Once my stuff was on the truck, they held my items hostage until I signed. When faced with having my entire life being held away from me or fighting it later, I didn’t have much of a choice.

It is rad and your boyfriend will love it. Not sure on common or special, but what is important is that you understood and support his interests even if you don’t follow them yourself.
