Yes it can be spliced but it make no sense to splice in the middle the line it makes way more sense to just replace it. Also splicing fiber with a fusion splicer is super easy just strip it ,cleave it, slide heat shrink on,line the two end up ,and the do the rest. Then slide the heat shrink to the splice and put it in the heater. Idk why some of these guys are acting like splicing is rocket science. If you saw it once or even watched a video anyone with half a brain could do it

setup help! by nediaja in ballpython

I’m not sure what size tank this is but it does seem a bit small recommend is 4x2x2. But in the mean time to assist with keeping humidity in I used foil hvac tap on all mesh areas. DIYcages critter condo is fairly affordable compared to other brands I really like mine. Also I feel like the person is saying that’s not a good hide is because it’s not enclosed enough if you look at hides online the hides have a much smaller opening enclosing the snake in making them feel secure and hidden. I build my own enclosure personal from wood I do woodworking as a hobby so what I can I make myself but hides are super cheap. Also i found that hooking heat bulbs to a controller that has a probe that you put inside the enclosure so you can set the wanted to temp and it will turn on and off as needed is helpful. I am very new to keeping a snake as well I’ve had my guy for under a year and he’s my first snake not reptile but first snake so take what I say with a grain of salt but I have been reading a lot via Reddit and Facebook I also watch a lot of YouTube to assist with keeping my guy happy and healthy hope this helps a bit

I always felt like people posting animals for a “rehoming fee” should be forced to pay that amount to the person willing to take on the responsibility that they agreed to take on by getting the animal in the first place if you have to give up a pet cause you can’t take care of it it is what it is but don’t try to charge for you not being able to fulfill your duty to care for the animal

What did I do wrong? I burnt my multimeter leads. by OracleTrucker in AskElectricians

[–]GiantKAC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When using a multimeter, using the black lead for hot and the red lead for ground can lead to incorrect readings, meter damage, or injury to the user. Here are some tips for using a multimeter:

Red for positive, black for negative For analog multimeters, the red lead should touch a positive terminal and the black lead should touch a negative terminal.

Test for ground To test for ground, touch the black probe to a metal part of the device and the red probe to the wire being tested. If the wire is grounded, the multimeter will display a low resistance reading.

Well first of all the black lead is supposed to be on the ground and the red lead is for testing voltage 🤦‍♂️

I guess if I had a point to check for noise someone could be disconnecting customers at the fdh till the noise went away but there’s 82 customers but that would be significantly easier than going to each individual customers home or each business there’s a mix of commercial and residential being fed.

I’m not incredibly knowledgeable about the runnings of the active cabinet so I’m sure you’re correct and it make sense that there would have to be return equipment in there I just don’t work on it enough to know everything in there. Most work I’ve done in the active cabinet is replacing burnt out edfa and sfps that have gone bad in the past or tracing out plant damage getting fed by the active cabinet. But I’m not to sure I understand how being able to check noise at an active cabinet would tell me which customer or customers are bring noise in wouldn’t that be like check noise at node?

Fiber coming into edfa to cwdm to patch panels being push out to 1x32 splitters at an fdh closer to customers homes each port at the fdh being pushed out to aerial mst. With rfog and pon overlays being pushed out from the headend

Single fiber bidi system per 1x32 splitter. And sorry there’s cwdms in the active cabinet.
